Considering that Micheal Bay is EP, I am probably going to hate it.

I think Jackie was the perfect fit, however, it seems that remakes of my favoirte movie or adaptations of my favorite books/comics/stories, leave me with MUCH to desire.

I fear that Nightmare will be no expection.

Not to sound pretentious.... but NO!

I am a big anti-remake person, especially of the classics. As of now, all the true masters of horror have had there first or most impacting movies (if not more than 1) remade, and they are all terrible. The guy they got to play Freddy is cool, but the script is shit. Aja and crew, some of the best modern horror movie makers (High Tension ect), were asked to do this moive and they turned it down because they said the script was trash and they werent allowed to remake it. The movie will be fail, just like all the others. If you are a fan, watch the original the day it comes out...

LOL, I don't care if it was made by George Michael I am still seeing it. Can I ask why everyone hates Mr. Bay so much? I thought the remake of Halloween 2 was gonna be great because Rob Zombie made it but it sucked, IMO.

. Can I ask why everyone hates Mr. Bay so much?

Because he makes crappy action movies that have no substance.

And well, Freddy is very sort of close to my heart so I REALLY don't like someone who's work I don't respect, taking on one my my favorite movies/movie characters oF ALL TIME.

Its kind of like if Britney Spears was to remake one of my favorite Joy Division song- the thought alone just make me throw up in my mouth a little.

Thank You so much for posting this!! I have always been a huge Freddy fan. When I was in Elementary school I had a Freddy doll that I slept with and used to tell everyone that I wanted to marry Freddy when I grew up. That didn't happen but I do have a husband with curly red hair like Robert Englunds. I also dressed my two year old as Freddy for Halloween one year, he had no clue. lol.

Anyways, as far as whether or not this movie will be good, I don't know. Like others have said remakes can be horrible but I'd still want to see it just because. I won't be going to see it at the theater though, I'll wait for dvd. Watching the original is a great idea. I was just thinking that it was time to introduce my children to my old boyfriend, Freddy.

LOL, that would be bad! I really don't pay attention to the people who make the movies usually. I just was curious about the whole Michael Bay think so I actually did some research and it appears that he is a hated character. Personally, as far as action movies go I don't particularly get into them (I'm all about the gore and guts) so I would not really know much of his work. Apparently, he did Transformer's and Armageddon, though. I liked those. It appears that the new horror creator's are running out of idea's, so someone better start remaking the classics or us horror fans will be screwed. Personally,

I am kinda disappointed now because I thought Zombie was doing this one too.

*Gets on soap box*

I am one of the bigger movie fanatics on this board and actually do pay attention to what goes into the movie other than the plot. Directors, producers and writers play a big part in my decision on if im going to pay any attention to a movie, that being said...

Michael Bay relies on special effects and explosions to try and make movies bigger and better than the ones before them, only achieving in making the exact opposite reasction happen to most fans of the originals (look up a funny youtube vid called "Michaelsplosions" for an idea of what im getting at). And as for the statement about new horror creators running out of ideas...You couldnt be more wrong! there are tons (and I mean tons!) of amazingly well done horror movies out there that have come out in the past 5 years. All different kinds to, gore, artsy, suspence, comedy (my least fav but still). You just have to lok beyond Hollywood...

I put Rob Zombie in the same catagory as Bay for movies as well...He is a good musician but a pretty terrible director... outside of "The Devils Rejects".

I like House of 1000 Corpses in that its a total rip off of TCM with a much lamer last 20 mins (And TCM is my all time fav horror movie)... Although Rob Zombie admitted it was very TCM like which I suppose is a good thing... It was ok but all in all I was disappointed with it. A couple witty lines from "otis" and "spalding" were not enough to make the movie last in my book. Alot of the movie was fluff or just annoying in my book. There were a few cool parts in it, Dr. Satan looked cool, Sid Haig is a classic actor and it was cool that Rob appreciates that. Devils Rejects was much much better. I would be more than willing to throw some modern horror your way, as it is my favorite past time, all I do is watch movies, mostly horror and sci-fi.

EDIT: Oh and the Halloween remake...dont get me started on how angry that movie makes me... ugh...

there are many rumors as to why he turned down the script that i have heard...1) he wanted to see how Mr. Harvy would do. 2) i also heard that he was doing an autograph signing at one point or after doing several he would end up in the same situation that would be (every once in a while a parent, brother, sister, etc etc would point at Rob and say thats Freddy Kruger to a younger more gullible sibling and the child would be to scared to get close to Robert, and said i dont wanna be a person that scares children outside of my make-up)the last one i heard was he had a Health Ledger type break down...minus the drugs and was getting to into Freddys charater after doing it so long and being in make up for so long and having to stay in that dark mind set for so long he started having psychological issues and decided to stop...as i said just rumors..are any of them true...who knows..only he knows the reason he turned down the part..i dont plan on taking anything i heard to heart really just listening to all the hear say...

as far as i'm considered i think the movie will do well but not fantastic..

oh btw Kat....heard on 89X today...Mr.Zombie plans on making Halloween 3 >.<

and i LOVE Mr. Zombie i really do...i thought he did excellent with number 1 and i thought 2 sucked a cock and 3 god help us...
