Destroit
That's what I get for responding after only reading the first paragraph or so. (For people on Blackberrys, DGN Worksafe, or those who have an aversion to yellow) That's what I get for responding after only reading the first paragraph or so. t1m3k1ll3r
There was a much better chance of the Lab. and Mephistos getting resurected! LOL!! Well, I don't think there's ever a chance the Lab will be resurrected ever. Not sure what happened to Mephistos, but Lab should have been shut down way before it was. I remember getting rained on by asbestos from the ceiling while setting up for a Cruxshadows show. Or another show in the wintertime once where there was no heat, and no running water at all. And of course the place was always somewhat flooded when we started load in. At the G.A.R. building we will be flooding the place and disabling the bathrooms only once a month for a special Lab Appreciation Night. We will also advertise doors at 9 but then make sure to have technical difficulties to make you wait outside till after 10 to be let in.
Rev.Reverence
Yeah...let me tell you kiddz what the dead giveaway really was...that building, is a historical landmark; & the only thing you can do to it, would to fix it up, & make it what it was historically...a war memorial... DJ Saint
Yeah...let me tell you kiddz what the dead giveaway really was...that building, is a historical landmark; & the only thing you can do to it, would to fix it up, & make it what it was historically...a war memorial... Um, I don't think that's necessarily correct. The Cadillac Place building was recently renovated with many upgrades and improvements. From a historical building it was converted into a mixed-use property. Also the Lofts at Rivertown. And New Amsterdam Historic District The New Amsterdam historic district, as it is now called, is the southern-most area of New Center. This part of the city bore witness to much of the auto industries early years. Early on, it was home to many of the small automakers and suppliers that grew and merged into the history of the automobile. Today, the area is receiving a new life as the home to the Wayne State University Research and Technology Park (TechTown) and through the conversion of many buildings into residential lofts. Regardless, so many great buildings in Detroit that would be awesome to see have a new life in whatever purpose (Historical or updated) EDIT: Just read the following: Property was recently sold to Mindfield USA, a Detroit-based media company (mindfieldusa.com) who plan to renovate the building for use as their headquarters. I recall reading that Rudy would never do a live performance. And if he has... where the hell was I... And Saint I expect this to happen otherwise I am sure more than a few of us will find you... Dummkopftag nothing, i want this..

Yeah, it was when we did the Electrophile/Pulse State/Alienare show down there for NYE 2005. I almost wore my coat on stage because it was so cold, but then I decided that drinking a lot would take care of that. The sad part was, it did. Haha. Dummkopftag nothing, i want this.. Actually I have photos of Rudy performing with P.A.L. years ago. It was a P.A.L. show but since Rudy and Christian had been sharing musical ideas, Christian had convinced Rudy to get on stage (in Germany) to do a few Wumpscut songs. Perhaps the closest Wumpscut has or ever will come to playing live. The G.A.R. Building was purchased by Mindfield USA (A Detroit based media company) and the building is expected to be renovated for their headquarters. So The G.A.R. building is out of the question but ya never know what other great buildings may make an awesome club.

Pulse State
Wow.... someone actually remembered the band I was in.... *bows* I thank you sir. What can I say? I suppose that I have a good memory! What happened to Alienare? I have to admit that I wasn't that much into experimentalist stuff at the time, so I suppose I just didn't "get" it. Hell, I didn't even buy my first Coil album until years later :D

(then they closed a few months later)

So The G.A.R. building is out of the question but ya never know what other great buildings may make an awesome club. that's actually awesome news! they can do all the modernization/repairs and, when they a) go bankrupt or b) move to the suburbs, it'll take much less effort to convert it into a club. :D
