candyman
I think you are not understanding what I'm saying. Obama and Hitler can have that in common without Obama becoming Hitler in all the ways that are evoked when people call Obama, "Hitler." Health care reform and economic reform do NOT equal future plans of genocide. Nobody has been claiming that there are future plans of genocide. When many of these people came into power they didn't claim genocide as future plans either. I am not going to say that Obama will be the end of America but I will say that the direction he could be going in is very hazy to say the least. Its not even just Obama...we are getting the clamps tightened more than even, it has been going of for years, and nobody seems to notice the insanely creepy feeling of all this new stuff...just like before when some of these leaders came into power. Every time one of these life changing, help everyone, its good for you bills is passed anywhere I just get the image of the Emperor wringing his hands saying "Good...GOOD!" Oh, well then, it's more than the ad hominem fallacy. It's slippery slope!
Simon Bar Sinister
while I find a lot of their rhetoric laughable, I will nonetheless give full props when they do something right. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36555655/ns/politics-more_politics/ if they'd done this from the beginning, they wouldn't have caught so much deserved shit. Gaf The Horse With Tears
OK then... ack on topic... Some one is in a bit of trouble at work... A middle school teacher in Oregon who announced his intention "to dismantle and demolish the Tea Party" on his "Crash the Tea Party" Web site is under investigation by his state's Teacher Standards & Practices Commission. The investigation by Oregon's teacher licensing agency comes in response to a public outcry over Jason Levin's public statements that he'll do anything short of throwing rocks to bring down the Tea Party. Levin, the media teacher at Conestoga Middle School in Beaverton, is the leader of a group that says it wants to infiltrate and bring down the loosely organized anti-big-government Tea Party movement. He has said he would seek to embarrass Tea Partiers by attending their rallies dressed as Adolf Hitler, carrying signs bearing racist, sexist and anti-gay epithets, and acting as offensively as possible — anything short of throwing punches. His school district is defending his right to free speech, but it's investigating whether he used district computers to spread his political message or worked on his Web site during school hours. Nightgaunt
I would imagine that they're worried about the fact that he's inciting people to commit illegal acts.
candyman
Did anyone else watch the Daily Show with JS tonight? I was expecting him to really bash the Tea Party for some reason but he really took a good approach at them. He really bitched out, in a funny way, the media and other critics for taking the very few and their actions and judging the whole group based on that. In a way he kinda called them out for how they are stereotyping a group just like the critics claim the Tea Party is stereotyping other groups. I went to the one in Madison today...much larger than last year and I was surprised to find a few people from college there that had been against me in class when I gave my class vote against Obama. It was also funny watching the cops hold back the idiots that wanted to ruin the day. Holy shit we leave them alone when they do war protests and now they come and do this? No event coverage which I thought was kinda nice. I just wonder what this would be like if it were possible to be racist against white people...it was white people shouting the slurs but still...and I guess its not sexist if you are yelling at women you know for sure to be conservative/republican. If the Tea Party is doing all the bashing that people say they are I did not see or hear much of it at all besides a few idiots...but does that make it right to use the "same" tactics against the Tea Party? The only negative I found at the rally was that the only tea that was actually there was cold green tea...hot Earl Grey with some honey would have been nice. One last thought that I forgot to add here. It seems to me like alot of the harsh criticism, as compared to actually criticism which there is little of, is coming from people that might have taken a class taught by Dr. Kamau Kambon...or think that the man has any sort of point to his teaching.
