Just an observation: Went to a burlesque show last night at Cliff Bells. They were letting people go in and out to smoke. I thought it odd that smokers stood out because they smelled of smoke if you were standing near them.... In an environment free from smoke, it was very obvious. In a place where the environment is to some degree or another smokey, I wouldn't have noticed.

It's already passed I know, but I wonder if they should have just required more ventilation rather than banning smoking completely? I really hope it doesn't affect business too much, though one of the reasons I have not been to CityClub in a long while is the ventilation problems. I may be there a lot more now that I don't have to go home with my clothing and hair saturated with smoke smell and feeling sick at the end of the night.

If there is enough air flow it isn't as bothersome, but I've even heard heavy smokers complain in there. Even smokers need oxygen. It gets really suffocating sometimes and the way it hung in the air it was obvious there was little to no ventilation happening.

OH...but, now...that guy that eats a bigmac a day, & never moves his ass further than the car, or work...HE IS gonna' effect you...HEALTHCARE BILL thingy...

Now, when he needs a by-pass, YOU & I get to pay for it if he can't..ever see the statistics for obesity in poor areas???

We would pay for his situation with or without healthcare bill. He falls, wife calls 911, ambulance takes him to hospital, hospital saves his life, he doesn't pay the bill, hospital is out of a lot of money so rates go up to help cover deficit from stiffed bill, our insurance costs and copays go up as insurance companies try to keep their profit % up....over and over.

Now, I know you are being sarcastic - but before someone runs with that statement and goes the wrong way with it -

Cigs aren't banned. Just can't smoke em inside a business.

To be fair, let's ban eating a hamburger indoors! :p

I saw an episode of "Sliders" like that... they were leaving a world where you needed a licence to purchase items that had a certain amount of cholesterol.
