Government advisers warn of ...

Great but it still presents problems. Affording this monster is not likely for most people and it will be a LONG time before it is. Even if it is affordable it is merely 2 seats and maybe some space in the cargo area. And finally concepts are concepts and the few that make it into production have been re-engineered in certain aspects and don't live up the the hype.

I just love all of these expensive sports cars that get "good" mileage and all the other expensive and complicated shit that is being put into other production cars. It seems people have just ignored the diesel generation systems that have proven to be much more efficient. The Volvo team that brought their prototype to our shop showed us a very nice piece of work. A four door sedan with a small 1.2 or 1.5 turbo diesel engine that does nothing but idle and supplies power to a small but efficient, and easily replaceable, battery pack and works in conjunction with four electric wheel motors. The systems were compact yet price was not an issue because of size and simplicity considering they used concepts that have been around, and ignored, for quite some time.

The fact that the system I mentioned about seems to be mostly unsupported if not totally forgotten in favor of these concept or production cars that only really please in one area makes the think that "finding a better car" is all a crock of shit. They have tossed out LP and bio-diesel as fuels for production vehicles because there is no infrastructure? WTF? Yeah...its all about the cash and they could give a rats ass about saving anything.

How about "Wardenclyffe Towers" all over the country? The Wikipedia article says it wasn't completed due to "economic problems". The truth is that J.P. Morgan pulled the plug when Tesla said there would be no easy way to charge people for the electricity. What if we constructed the towers and vehicle owners paid a flat fee per year? Something (hopefully) less than the cost of a year's worth of gasoline...

Oh wait, we're not supposed to know about this kind of technology.

tesla was a genius! however, i see a possible problem with this, just as i do with all of the radio and microwaves floating about the planet. my concern is, what types of interference will we create with the schuman resonance frequencies if we project electricity into the atmoshpere, and how would it affect the human mind/thought process?

Schumann resonances are the principal background in the electromagnetic spectrum between 3–69 Hz, and appear as distinct peaks at extremely low frequencies (ELF) around 7.83, 14.3, 20.8, 27.3 and 33.8 Hz.

here is a list of brain waves and what they're typically associated with.

delta waves: up to 4hz - adults slow wave sleep, in babies.

theta waves: 4 - 7hz - young children, drowsiness or arousal in older children and adults, idling, Associated with inhibition of elicited responses (has been found to spike in situations where a person is actively trying to repress a response or action) (Kirmizi-Alsan et al 2006).

alpha waves: 8 - 12hz - relaxed/reflecting,, closing the eyes, Also associated with inhibition control, seemingly with the purpose of timing inhibitory activity in different locations across the brain (Klimesch, Sauseng, & Hanslmayr 2007; Coan & Allen 2008).

beta waves: 12 - 30hz - alert/working, active, busy or anxious thinking, active concentration

gamma waves: 30 - 100+ - Displays during cross-modal sensory processing (perception which combines two different senses, such as sound and sight) (Kisley & Cornwell 2006; Kanayama, Sato, & Ohira 2007; Nieuwenhuis, Yeung, & Cohen 2004), Also is shown during short term memory matching of recognized objects, sounds, or tactile sensations (Herrmann, Frund, & Lenz 2009)

a lot of people feel strongly that living under high-tension power wires has a detrimental affect on health. (i'm not sure if it's ever been studied officially.) bio-feedback has shown that people can influence their brainwave states either through meditation alone, or with the assistance of sound interference methods, such as binaural beats. my concern is that varying frequencies might set up an interference frequency in the ELF range that could negatively affect human brainwaves. yeah, it's far out, and sounds a little crack-pot-ish, but it's still a concern of mine. i often wonder about how much the current wireless systems affect people even now.

You don't just have to live under the power lines to know something is weird. We have hunting grounds that have lines running across them and we don't hunt under them anymore. My stand was really close to the lines and I could hear the buzzing all day and I did NOT feel good after that shit. Nobody hunts there anymore which cuts a large portion from the farming and hunting area...everyone that has hunted or farmed under the lines has a different story and none of them say anything about feeling good.

Only one way to find out! Muhahahahaha!

I know the British have done a lot of studies along these lines. They discovered, for instance, that cell phone use negatively affects brain development in children, and passed a law prohibiting companies from marketing cell phones to kids. I do worry about the effects of wireless systems and such, but it's not something I can do much about, so I have chosen to remain ignorant. :p

They are not large enough. I just watched a special on the History channel about Tesla. A reserach group tried building a large scale Tesla coil to generate power.. thier findings were that it requires a tower as large as the one from the 32 Worlds Fair to actually work like Tesla invisioned. I didn;t cach the name of the research group.. wishI had.. they need more funding.

So we build really big ones. What's the freakin' problem here? We put a man on the moon, for cryin' out loud. :stuart:

Wouldn't the EM a Telsa coil puts out may have an interference with telecommunication, not to mention some of the medical equipment, and a variety of other electronics we use daily?

You're missing the point. Nothing trumps the coolness of a gigantic Tesla coil.
