I still believe there are many more harmfull chemichals in a cigaette and altho not healthy I think the E-cig is a tool in quiting smoking. That is what we smokers know we really need to do.

I agree that it can be a useful tool...not a replacement...

I went to a non-smoking bar last night...it is a biker bar that is in an area under the ban...talk about a blanket ban that does one hell of a job at fucking things up! Another biker bar we went to just decided to forget the new law which works out because no cops ever come in there and neither do people that care.

BAH i spoke too soon i guess. Seems i'll be waiting to hit City for awhile. $1.00 for re-entry would have been fine but $4.00 i just cannot afford. Back to bummed out

This came from staff at the door. I was told May 1st that the $1 thing was just for that weekend "to get people used to it" then it would be $4 starting the following weekend. Either way, it's enough to make me take my business elsewhere.

I was out at Necto on Monday and alot of people were hitting the e-cigs and no one said ONE WORD to me about it, though a couple of times I was silently visited by staff to see what I was exhaling. Are you sure they are illegal? Has anyone tried using one at City yet?

I use a no nicotine or low nicotine liquid and have found that my asthma is literally GONE since switching to the e-cig. I say it's a good thing

Just because they are not legal, does not mean that there is a code to enforce it, nor does it mean that it is enforced (as of yet, but, trust, they'll get to it, one way or the other)...

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that e-cigarettes meet the definition of a combination drug device product and therefore should be regulated by the FDA. Currently e-cigarettes are not approved by the FDA.

hey now i liked my place of work smokey now i have to smell all that food people waste trust me dishwashing sucks when all you smell like is waste at the end of the day id rather smell like an ashtray. also if you are ever there and they cant bring you silverware cause none is washed thats cause im outside having a cig hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha i win

OK word from on high. At least as it pertains to the E Cig debate in Michigan. The owner of the Necto in addition to going to Lansing to take part in the debate with our lawmakers also spoke with the head of the Michigan Health Department. They are the enforcement arm of the new state law not the police as is a common myth. While the FDA made it's official statement on the matter. The way the no smoking Michigan law is CURRENTLY WRITTEN E Cigs are not under their jurisdiction. You would think that the FDA and Health Department would be under the same jurisdiction but alas and thankfully they are not. BTW fun fact I also learned today the FDA cannot force a food recall. They do not have the power how fucked is that?

i still don't understand this "water vapor" issue. millions of people breathe in hot water vapor almost daily - it's called taking a shower... how can it supposedly be bad for you?

Or humidifiers, whether its the portable kind or hooked up to the furnace or vaporizers or the dishwasher or washing machine running the hot water or boiling water for cooking.

It's not water vapor exactly...it's Nicotine vapor. And yes, they are technically still illegal, because they have not yet been approved by FDA, which means their not fully legal, which makes them illegal. It also means that anyone stopping a "minor" from buying one cannot legally do so, yet.

Welcome to the next stupid lawsuit, if anyone is quick enough.
