Dear Alien Sex Fiend,

please tour the USA - and make sure you play Detroit, mmkay?

Dear Spammer ov the Gods

We tried a few years back and were going to even bring Specimen. We wanted LOTS of $$$$ for a single show. Specimen had their own price too. We were surprised when not more than a handful of promoters got back to us. Really thought they were ALL made of money and the economy over there is top notch right now so...

Forever yours

Mr. Fiend

;)

Seriously, they had contacted Darque Productions regarding a show about a year/year and a half ago. Their performance fee was way up there (to me personally, they are worth it) but for a single performance it was just outrageous. That same money could be spent on several performances from other acts or even something like another Motorpop. Many promoters passed on booking that tour including my buddies in L.A. who have a long history of booking bands and usually cover there expenses with no problems. Even they thought ASF had gone insane with their asking price. Then Specimen wasn't able to get the proper working papers in time to tour...

I'm sure at some point they will return to the states and hopefully their price is reduced from the last attempt. Would love to work with them in bringing them to Detroit. Phenomenal band live. The only band I've ever seen play three hours... and then come back to do a lengthy encore!

They were supposed to 2 years ago but (if I remember) there were problems with Visas...?

Correct. They were supposed to tour with Specimen - "The Batcave Reunited" tour - in 2008. Immigration (read: no working papers),

transportation & other logistic (read: sporadic promoters with enough cash to book them) & legal issues forced the cancellation of the tour.

Sex Gang Children was also to be included on several dates of that tour...

I haven't seen them since 1993 in Los Angeles. Great times! Too bad, that would have been an awesome show. At least they're putting out new music.
