Toronto goth clubs?

Recommended Posts

Bummer. Thanks for noticing it closed. They should post that on the top of their site! I might have realized that had I not been looking at it in a very small browser window to avoid getting caught using the internet at work. I also couldn't find a goth club in Portland, Seattle, or Vancouver. Found one in LA, Chicago, and Atlanta though.

Thanks for that link jynxxxedangel!

I've heard some pretty bad things about the Bovine Sex Club. That place and it's patrons have a pretty bad reputation, but I haven't been there so I can't say for sure that the rumors are true. Savage Garden was decent, but small. It's a shame they closed the place.

Went to this place Velvet Undergound after the Depeche Mode concert last year (also on a Friday night) and though it looks incredibly cool inside (very goth), they were playing top 40 80s music (think "love shack" and "come on eileen") that night. I do recall them not having any cover charge though, which was definitely a bonus.

Torontos scene used to be one of the best and now it's very very quiet there. Savage Garden is closed sadly. So is BigBop/Reverb (where they used to do the Dark Rave events). And Fun Haus closed in 2008. Those were the places to go. 10 Years ago there was a club called Area 51 - managed to visit there twice and never left the dance floor as the DJ's were unbelievable and their music selections just amazing. The first place I ever heard industrial beat-matched long before anyone/everyone was doing it.

Stay away from Bovine Sex Club...

Wish I had more info for ya...

From what I've heard from some friends in Toronto, everything has closed down.

This is true.... I used to visit "Sanctuary" every time I went.... *sigh* but it went away.... Queen Street used to be the shizznick

Savage Gardens was a cool place, although very small..I am pretty sure that the scene is small there now, I heard there is a monthly realgoth/deathrock thing though, that was when savage gardens was still open so its probably gone to. Just go shopping instead, there are some neat shops.

Damn! From what I saw when I visited (which was about 7 years ago) it used to be huge :( I had so much fun on that trip.

This is true. Northbound Leather has some amazing stuff, but they are very expensive. There are also a lot of decent shops on Queen Street. I always liked Hell's Belles, but I don't know for sure if they are still there.

I have a weakness for Northbound. I have to hand over my credit cards to a friend every time I go there because I will end up spending way too much.
