Greetings! Thank you for the welcome!

Well, here I am, haha. Where to start..

I'm 18, currently in highschool. I'm quite happy to be graduating, come to think of it!

I will miss a few things, like doing graphic design for paper staff and scaring the impressionable ones, but change is an inevitability.

I'm single, no kids (thank goodness! o_o! Can't say the same for some others my age).

Besides graphic design, I also read a lot, listen to music, go to concerts, hang out with friends. Typical things really..

Well, I suppose that's about it for now. ^_^

Thanks again for the welcome everyone!

I was a graphic design major (I have an associates in it) but I'm not grasping the "for paper staff and scaring..." do you mean "for school newspaper staff and freaking out the impressionable people that work there" ? lol

not sure how i missed that the first time around. =P

Welcome again anyhow. :welcome:

Ah! I'll explain. In highschool, I was on the school newspaper staff, and somehow ended up getting my own comic strip. People didn't quite follow my humour (e.g. mythology jokes and fairy tale parodies)

The scaring comment was my usual attempt at dry sarcasm. I'm still a bit of an odd cookie. Thankfully, I get less quip about it, unlike highschool. Beautiful world indeed! I can wear my platforms in peace! ;D! Haha.

I still mess around with graphic design, though I'm not sure if I want to major in it or not. How is it going for you, Troy Spiral? :O?

As an update, it's been two years. O.o I have a knack for disappearing, I suppose.

I've been quite busy with college and the like. I'm on the PTK honor society and the Dean's list. I also met my current partner there, which is rather lovely. He's very much into the same veins of music as I am and has a congenial and amusing disposition. Perfect!

I also work at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. It's quickly become a second home. :]

ooops didn't see this until i posted my other message.

I guessed that what you meant about the newspaper but not having seen much of your comments around, it was hard to get the tone. Sounds neat/fun. I'm an incurable sarcastic wise ass, prone to discuss "the big questions" right along side the odd jokes about obscure historical / scientific / Lit / film things, which, often falls on deaf ears. I do that a bit less now than I used to but its still there. I'm not sure were the hell i got it. No one growing up that I hung out with was like that, my parents and whole family is very "blue collar churchgoing" types, can't remember ever seeing my parents read a book. Aliens or the stork is my usual guess as to where I came from.

Good to hear things are going well with school and have found a good S. O. :animier: There are a lot of Ren Faire goers around here, we have had several "dgn meetups" there over the years.

Right now i'm not doing that great, the short version:

got really sick about 4 months ago, DGN (which is like my child) went to crap activity wise in the meantime while i was away, and i still don't feel that great, but I'm trying to just ignore it and focus on getting this place back in shape (which basicly means promoting, trying to post and get help posting (impossible to do it alone, as its , you know a community) "even when I'm not in the mood" (inactive communities dont grow they shrink) and go out to the club(s) when I can to promote. Which is very , very little fun as it makes my stress level go through the roof (car accident related stress/depression). But I'm trying, and things are better than they were.

Nice to see you around again, hopefully it won't be a drive-bye sighting.

That's understandable. XD Tone is hard to interpret in this type of format. I've learned to be a bit more explanatory when it comes to online communication.

I'm quite the opposite; I inherited my sardonic sense of humour from my family. They're an odd, interesting bunch~ <3

Thank you. ^_^ I am pleased with life, besides this God awful heat. :/ Were I more egotistical, I would think it to be Karmic retribution. *shakes fist*

Wow~ I had no idea about the meetups at fest. That's really cool to know~

Mm. *nods* That's not good at all. :/ I'm glad to hear that you're putting forth your best effort; that's very admirable. I hope that things bounce back in both your personal life and the community. I'll help by trying to be more active; I've been exploring the different threads, which are interesting. Still don't know how I managed to forget about this place. O.o

I also had to make a conscious effort to be more verbose so as to not have my meaning get lost in text online. I think I've went to far the other way and write more than is needed , and people just fall asleep at the keyboard. =D

"Karmic Retribition" :no heh.

Thanks for trying to make an effort, it takes a TON of effort to get things "restarted" and every bit helps more than you might realize.

I'm going to guess you forgot about this place beasue it doesnt constantly spam you with "hey you have updates!!"

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.
