For them that dislike City Club...

Recommended Posts

Wait, so you mean you can't even possess cigarettes when you walk into CC? What the fuck is this? Highschool!? Get the fuck out of here. I'm done then. There's not shit you can tell me to get me to come back, fuck CC up the ass. WTF.

Yeah, so if you smoke you have to drive to the club. Forget about taking a cab or walking if you live close enough. Great job encouraging drunk driving!

You guys already touched up on key points.

*the sound

*the maintenance

For me, I [used] to go to CC. The last time I went, I was able to put my head into one of the speakers and not hear a sound...

Somethings wrong there.

I don't know about you guys, but I go to clubs to dance and not be able to hear the person next to me talking about smoking a cig.

The reentry policy is mild and incoherent.

And honestly people, if the bar was THAT bad, wouldn't it have been shut down a long time ago?? EVERY bar has to go threw health inspections....

The only good the cigarette smoke ever did was cover up BO from people who have poor hygiene habits,IMO BO is a much worse smell than Cigarette smoke.

I at least have my blu e-cigs they last long, and I don't mind sharing them with a certain select few I am friends with.

I used to manage a nightclub. I've been through two health inspections and three fire inspections. I know what they look for. City Club doesn't even come close to passing. Somebody is bribing somebody.

Exactly.

I'm pretty sure there's still raw sewage standing in the basement too, as well as many many other violations. Who knows what we're breathing in.

argh. :yucky:

Why do I go back when I can? I miss you folk!

I think Detroit is a little lax on enforcement of health codes. How else would you explain Harpos? Last time I went there you had to wade through ankle deep piss if you dared to enter the bathroom and when doors first opened for the show I noticed vomit all over the floor from at least the night before that had never been mopped up. Kinda scary that there is someplace that makes CC look clean.

You would be surprised how easy it is to get around things. I used to work at Art Vans warehouse and the trucks filled with furniture to be unloaded are filled with pesticides. OSHA would announce two weeks in advance the day they were coming. The day they were their the men unloading the trucks got breather masks and as soon as OSHA left they were taken away. OSHA isnt even supposed to announce when they are coming. Palms can get greased.

My friend said she doesn't really like CC cause the people. She says they're stuck up. She tries to say hi to people and smile and people are just rude. I don't see it but whatever. But I would just say cleaner and thats my only complaint. And get some REAL soap in the bathrooms. Adn is there a coat check?...If not I would say get one. If there is then.....oh.

People were always friendly to me and some times too much at City Club but Necto (and yes on mondays is very snobbish). Their is a coat check on saturdays during the colder months.

Don't know about Necto. And never will, either.

That is a shame you might have fun. Judging by what you listed in your profile under music you propably won't be dancing much but you may enjoy the diverse atmosphere. You'll never know.

There's one nail (?) poking out of the inside of the outer door right where my hand grabs it when I open it from the outside to open it the rest of the way and I've scratched myself on it - if I hadn't had a tetanus shot when I cut my finger in Dec I'd have to get another.

(Actually, really hoping someone will read this comment and fix that one right away - every time I open it I watch for that now but it's really unsafe and unnecessary.) :help:

I cut myself on that damn thing all the time!!! It's been there for years though, so it's not going anywhere. I think avoiding it is part of instinctive muscle memory now. It got horribly infected last time it happened.

Yeah Harpo's is total garbage. I am grateful for the cleaner and better places that have opened up in the last few years here to take shows away from that place.

I have actually seen CC prior to to them opening the doors (when filming the Run With the Wolves video.) It stunned most of the group there how clean it was...and it still smelled of pine-sol and cleaners as we finished (just before the doors opened) I believed one of the security people called it "City Club fresh smell."

Wow, not sure how I never noticed it until recently! There's still absolutely no reason they can't fix it D:
