This is why I stay away from televised news sources. They're either too liberal or too conservative of a twist anymore and never give the truth by it's self, instead it's usually lightly laced in with a bunch of biased opinion like a soap opera. Sorta reminds me of the movie Idiocracy lol.

I understand Fox news is in a league all on their own with their right wing views, however they're further to the right than any other station is to the left/right, and one man in my opinion has ruined any credibility Fox news could have ever had. Bill Oriley, I can't even watch that man, some of the things he's said have left me to believe he has no coherent idea of how the real world works.. at all...

This is what irritates me..Bill O'Riley is an opinion show..not news. If you want the actual news, watch any of the shows during the day. If you want opinion shows, that's what Beck, O'Riley, and Hannity are for. Stop confusing the two concepts.

The problem is the network only has one opinion mixed in with it's "news".

If they had at least one Bill Mahr for every 3 Glenn Becks... I would not have an issue

See it's the simple fact that The Oriley Factor is a segment within FOX news, technically making it "news" It's part of the news broadcast, not it's own individual show. And the rest of fox, though what i've seen first hand and was involved with is petty and trivial, takes a story, and twists it into fiction and displays it on the news such as a huge group of internet hackers known as "anonymous" that will seriously fuck your shit up man!!! they're EVIL!!! But when the truth be told.. the root of the story was fucking 4chan, the biggest JOKE of the internet out there.

I watch a lot of fox because of my dad, so I know for a fact that they offer both sides because they invite people on for both sides of the spectrum.

Yes because no other news organization has bee duped by morons. If I remember correctly, when that stupid Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie came out or whatever, all the news organizations were saying there were bombs all over NYC because of people hanging up the stupid little signs for the movie or something. This was a few years back so I can't remember the specifics, other than it was really really stupid.

And O'Reily is not part of a the "News" broadcast. It is on at 8pm and is called an "Opinion" show. He may talk about what is going on in the news but it is still considered an opinion show.

They do offer both sides yes.... but the amount that they allow "both" (and actually there are so many more then just right and left, although most news organizations do not want you to think for yourself)... is very off kilter.

They give the RIGHT side a lot more of a voice on the network then the left.... or the center... or any other direction.

Is there actually an "non-right" leaning "opinion" show on Fox News? Has there ever been beyond a right leaning show that occasionally has a left leaning guest? (HONEST QUESTION)

Actually Al Sharpton is a frequent guest on Hannity, and Allan Combs who leans very left makes the rounds on ALL the opinion shows.

Combs actually used to have a show with Hannity, and he does a show on Fox News Radio.

They had one talk show where they had "both sides" where Hannity talked about twice as much as Combs... and that got cancelled.

So there has never been a show about the "other side" only for a short time they had a show that had "both sides" amidst other shows that were right only....

Again... if they had just one Bill Mahr on the show for every 3 Glenn Becks.... I will take change my opinion on the network.

You and Phee work in the industry. You get to see things we don't. But I also think you might be biased for your industry. (I sometimes do the same for the auto industry, for likely similar reasons.) I won't dispute the traffic management issues, but I think in general, that corporate interests will more likely than not gravitate towards profit and taking advantage of every opportunity to make it over doing "the right thing".

Mainly I was referring to how many people point in this issue to the throttling of torrent traffic, saying that traffic management was an excuse, and that they really want to control what you do. It's not. If you were able to see the bandwidth abuses firsthand, you'd know better. I can't really say any more than that.

and the Cable companies and hardware manufacturers are the ones that are going to be raking in the bucks... they don't stand to loose money on this. Net Neutrality means paying for internet based on bandwidth usage.

...not exactly.

Communications companies benefit more from no regulation.

And most companies already have bandwidth limits set on accounts. Read your fine print.

Yeah well I think it's a bad idea. Such a bad idea I think N Korea might even laugh at us for this one. You know the United States has some of the WORST broadband in the world? South Korea has 100mbps broadband cheaper than what we pay for 8mbps in America. We are WAY behind the rest of the world on communications technology. And our communications cost more than almost any other consumer would pay in another country.

Read the bill and see who benefits and who gets screwed.

and yes, I know thier are bandwidth limits set. Charter and Comcast are two good examples of people that play with the packets.

....how exactly do they benefit from *more* regulation?

and if it benefited them, why would they oppose it?

And the limits and the traffic policing are for very good reasons.

Abuses can get... extreme.

Regulation without teeth or specificity. Thats how.

How does opposing a bill when you actually support it benefit you? Simple. All I have to do is say I am for something and there are many people that will immediately be against it here on the board.

As for abuses... can you be more specific? Like... Are people somehow surpassing the bandwidth limit they already have? Or are they paying for say 10mbit access and actually pegging themselvs at 10mbit usage and staying there?
