I would enjoy any night at CC where I don't have to **Pay to smoke a fucking cigarette**

Yeah, I'm still going on about that, because I'm fucking pissed.

One might state that smoking is expensive...

Here's the deal and thank you all for your feedback. The Collective was asked to start a night during the week. We decided that Tuesday will work best for most people. The music will be a combination of old school goth/dark 80's, punk, with some industrial thrown in as well the whole retro vibe the Lab used to have. As for the Lab, it's finished people. We sent our people down there and the owner simply will not clean it up to where it's safe to use. We even put together a proposal and offered to send a crew of people down to help with the clean up. However, we do want to try and capture that Old Lab vibe which is what we will attempt to do this summer. Scary Guy will be the head DJ for the evening and we will also feature other DJ's each month to find what is going to be a good fit for everyone. SG wants to call it Deadline. I wish there is something I could do about the smoking fee and all but that is out of my control. However, the Collective is aiming to please with what we have been given so we will try and make the night as entertaining as possible. We will post a flier for the night soon. It will open officially on June 15th. SG, myself, and a few others will do our best to play music that will represent the goth night many of us are looking for. We will also continue to look around for a venue that we can eventually call our own where we can have more control over the club atmosphere. Until then, we give you this on Tuesday nights. I'll let you know when we have the hours for the night as well.

Thanks again for your feedback and support. It isn't easy trying to put together events for all of you with our limited resources and situations but we will continue to do what we can.

See you soon

I really do like Phee's idea about reopening the lab. I would say that is the most practical idea. Then you can wander back and forth between the two on nights that most people can afford the time to go. Sunday through thursday are usually bad nights for clubs I've noticed.

It would make the place capable of holding more patrons having both open, both would be on nights that people go clubbing typically, it's just common sense to fix up the lab to be able to do such a thing, and possibly the most profitable solution as well.

And I agree with both Siren and Soulrev, quit gouging the smokers a dollar each time they want to smoke. That's just a pure bullshit pikey move.

This night will have a deadline feel, wanna know whyyyy?

IM DJING AT IT WITH SCARY GUY!

weeeeeee

I am sad that we wont have every Deadline DJ there, I actually really appreciated what Saint and stevie did with crazy new stuff, but you will have the old school feel that the front room of deadline offered. I know me and scary are going to have a blast with this.

Requests? Deadliners come first for me ;)

...And if you call it deadline...that would be pretty sweet.

Deadliners HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

lol

Instead of a new night at CC, we need to bring back Deadline. Deadline was the best club night I've been to so far, followed by the very short-lived Prive.

Luna Wednesdays used to be swank but now it's jock central and they don't even have a goth night.

Have not been to Necto for personal reasons, plus distance.

Everyone told me that Mephisto's was awful. It's not that I didn't WANT to check it out for myself, I just couldn't get anyone to go with me because every time I'd try my search was met with dozens of friends saying "ick...Mephisto's is awful! No way I'm going."

Detroit definitely needs from fresh clubness! I'm not going to the Sunday/Tuesday CC thing because they don't let people leave to smoke without charging them, but have been wanting to check out Club FT. Not necessarily a goth night of course, but both of my teenage social groups were A) Fraser HS Kids and B) Royal Oak 4th and Main Corner Kids. NEVER did these two groups ever cross except me but from what I hear is that coincidentally Club FT is a blend of Fraser Kids and Corner Kids. I have to see this for myself...always thought it was unthinkable . I'm probably going to hang out there on Sundays.

    • So I just got back from Happy Endings and I saw @DJ Saintthere.  He told me that after I got kicked out of High Dive that later on Mike also attacked him, and Mike and his crew were also kicked out.  Then we talked about the scene and possible upcoming gigs.  I hope something comes his way soon, as well as mine too.  With the current economy I think more club owners will be hungry to try more things like goth/industrial/other alternative nights.  I've also heard that GenZ isn't online dating and is actually going out into the world to meet people which may also help business owners, though they aren't drinking which doesn't really help much.  I think more places are going to need to start serving food and mocktails to make up the difference. Then Mike showed up at Happy Endings which I thought was highly likely because I hadn't seen him there in a while, and @DJ Aaron Hingst,@elektrosonik, and his husband Tim were all there too.  He did something else I wasn't expecting...  Which was he actually shook my hand and said it was good to see me, which caught me a little off guard.  He didn't apologize for anything but it's a start I think.  I told him I was sorry to hear about @djpleasurekitten's passing (which I was/am.  Despite the rift that ended up existing between us we were friends at one point.) So maybe he's moving on finally?  If so then I'm glad.  I'm still not sure if I'll ever go back, but it is at least a start, and it's nice to actually see he's trying to bury the hatchet in something other than my skull.
    • Stargate Universe, which everyone said sucked but I'm actually enjoying it? Like there are less jokes, but lots of dark humor, and people might actually die rather than have 10ft thick plot armor?  Yes please more of this!
    • Failbook is blocked so I can't see any of the info. "Oh you don't need to login to view!" No, you don't understand...  This is my /etc/hosts file:   # Block Meta IPv6 fe80::1%lo0 facebook.com fe80::1%lo0 login.facebook.com fe80::1%lo0 www.login.facebook.com fe80::1%lo0 fbcdn.net fe80::1%lo0 www.fbcdn.net fe80::1%lo0 fbcdn.com fe80::1%lo0 www.fbcdn.com fe80::1%lo0 static.ak.fbcdn.net fe80::1%lo0 static.ak.connect.facebook.com fe80::1%lo0 connect.facebook.net fe80::1%lo0 www.connect.facebook.net fe80::1%lo0 apps.facebook.com12 # Block Meta IPv4 0.0.0.0 facebook.com ~~~~~ A METRIC FUCKTON OF OTHER FB DOMAINS ~~~~~ 0.0.0.0 zh-tw.facebook.com I had to edit it and cut off many lines because it's 2171 lines long and the overwhelming majority is just Facebook domains. Those IPs for v4 and v6 mean they lead to the HTTP equivalent of /dev/null X/Twitter is blocked too.  I need to block Alphabet/Google and Microsoft as well, but they're actually useful for certain things (damn you YouTube and GitHub!)
