OH MY! PLASTIC PASSION'S 1-YR ANNIVERSARY BASH! SATURDAY, JUNE 12th @ LIVE AT PJs, A2

Recommended Posts

Ok, so we're poor, and no one wanted to carpool.

And I have friends that wanted me to spend time with them.

And they haz cheesecake.

But, I'll be busy most of the summer,

and I want to hear some good music

AND spend a night in a Lady Gaga-free zone

(Seriously what's wrong with any of you wanting to hear her at CC??)

Hope to see one or two of you there!

Disturbing that so many here know so much about her and what she sounds like. LOL

Have my first Sat. off in 3 months for a wedding today. I am taking advantage of it to hit up the one year celebration tonight. 1 year long is a major milestone and tribute to the quality of what they do on a monthly basis.

See you tonight,

Jinx

It was fun... it was sort of like a *Phee's life Chapter One" cliff notes night......

I saw people I had not seen in YEARS...

WOW! There were DGN people everywhere!

There was Jinx, beanternal, Phee (who came with us) and ......

OK so fucking no one from DGN (except Saechalyn, a DGN alum who goes to more club events than most of the board)

This was Phee last night, btw--rock_of_love_3.jpg

He must've been way cooler than I in high school, since everyone wanted to say hi to him.

Then after a moment or two we'd hang out again.

That is when I wasn't on the dance floor.

It was weird knowing every g-damn song.

If you're over 30, or can actually admit to liking music that pre-dated NIN, you should check it out.

A couple criticisms--

1. a little too poppy.

I even asked the DJ, "Are you allowed to play industrial here?"

Then Worlock came on, 2/3 of the dance floor cleared and it was beanternal, Phee/Jinx going crazy in the middle of the floor.

2. I hate beat matching and mashing -- Joy Division Digital and Pixies Gouge Away sounded badly remixed and I don't dig the whole----it's-one-damn-long-song-thing.

But overall it was great! if you can accept Tom Tom Club alongside Revco (possibly the weirdest transition of the night) you'll have a good time.

PS They played both Digital and Fade to Grey (mentioned above) and I can vouch for Jinx. He had no ass by the end of the night. The only one who danced more was this big asian guy with a JD Closer shirt on---who ALSO was one of the Pheepies (Phee groupies)

Thanks all for coming out! Yes, it was a bit more "poppy" set than what I usually do. We wanted to keep the bar happy and not scare away too many of LIVE's regular Saturday night crowd (an early tester was playing "Blacklist" by Leg. Pink Dots - it COMPLETELY cleared the dancefloor, so I knew it was going to be a tough crowd and stayed mostly with the hits for the rest of the night).

Know as we get more secure and established at this new venue, we'll venture more and more into deeper cuts, including more industrial/goth.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
