Fierce Critter
Heh. I'm on the laptop, about 5 minutes from the end of the film. First off, I've never read a single Punisher comic. I vaguely knew the backstory behind the character. So I have no comparison to make. Overall, I found the film kinda lame. I mean, it's kinda cheesy - the script, and the soundtrack. Urgh. LOTS of boring parts, too. Like, YAWN. When's he gonna start PUNISHING people? Once he did, it was a lot more enjoyable. I think I wanted him to be a lot more of a badass. I did like the "silly" characters at the place he ends up living. I THOUGHT the fat guy was John Pinette - the really rotund comedian that does the chipmunk voice. Sure 'nuff, just saw it WAS him in the credits. I neither recommend nor not recommend it. If you're curious, have a watch. If not, don't feel like you're missing anything. Extras include making-of, featurette on stunts, etc. The only one I'm going to bother with is an "origin of the Punisher" featurette. That was what I enjoyed most on the Catwoman DVD. But I can seperate my interest in the movie to tell if it was good or bad and I would have to say if you are not a fan of Marvel, then the movie was mediocre.
