I have to disagree with the answer. I have been educated and exposed to critical thinking, logic stuff and science. I have never been taught to hate my body or or hate other people who do not think like me or are of a different race. I have always question everything. Yet after all of that I still believe in God. Why do atheist think that those of use who believe in a higher power are a punch of uneducated morons who can not think for themselves or know anything about science or how the world works? That is like the religious people saying that all atheist are evil.

Okay I realize that this is suppose to be a fun thread and not to be taking too seriously. But sorry, I just could not sit back and say nothing to this one.

Sunday school lulz

Little Mary was not the best student in Sunday school. Usually she slept through the class.

One day the teacher called on her while she was napping, "Tell me, Mary, who created the universe?"

When Mary didn't stir, little Johnny, an altruistic boy seated in the chair behind her, took a pin and jabbed her in the rear.

"God almighty!" Shouted Mary and the teacher said, "very good" and Mary fell back asleep.

A while later the teacher asked Mary, "Who is our lord and savior," but, Mary didn't even stir from her slumber.

Once again, Johnny came to the rescue and stuck her again.

"Jesus Christ!" Shouted Mary and the teacher said, "very good," and Mary fell back asleep.

Then the teacher asked Mary a third question.

"What did eve say to Adam after she had her twenty-third child?" and again, Johnny jabbed her with the pin.

This time Mary jumped up and shouted, "if you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!"

The teacher fainted.

Three nuns were talking. The first nun said, "I was cleaning the father's room the other day and do you know what I found? A bunch of pornographic magazines!"

"What did you do?" the other nuns asked.

"Well, of course I threw them all in the trash."

The second nun said, "Well, I can top that. I was in the father's room putting away the laundry and I found a bunch of condoms."

"Oh my," gasped the other nuns. "What did you do?"

they asked.

"I poked holes in all of them," she replied.

The third nun said, "Oh shit."

Anyone who pushes, berates, and/or insults doesn't actually believe (or disbelieve) in what they claim. There's your answer.

Sadly...I DO see it coming more from athiests than religious people (used to be the other way around). Since I fit into neither of those categories, I kinda just sit back and watch both parties' silliness, and fighting about an answer unable to be known with faulty logic from both sides.

For instance, you can tell that the respondent on Yahoo Answers is biased against Christianity automatically. Most likely raised in a militantantly religious household, he automatically assumes that this person is speaking on behalf of Christianity...when NO DENOMINATION or religion had been stated by the person. He then vilifies the religion, the one that the original person had not even claimed to have been discussing, and even adds things that are not in Christian religious texts to "support" his cause. When people don't have any argument...they lie and make things up.

So...sounds to me that someone is uncomfortable with their own atheism, if they weren't...why would they spend precious hours of their life trolling people on the internet they will never meet in order to feel better and more adequate about their own existence? It's not like, according to this guy, there is an afterlife or anything...so you only get to do it once, sounds like wasting time to me .

Please tell me she's joking.

I'm quite sure she's serious. My aunt teaches "science" in fundamentalist schools. She taught her own kids that the dinosaurs died because they didn't fit on the ark. I'm not making that up.

It goes along with denial of evolution, especially prevalent in the non-catholic descended strains of Christianity in the US. There are religious schools that commonly teach that there is "proof" that dinosaurs are less than 10,000 years old.

Not trying to be a douche to your aunt..but that's the kind of crap that makes us normal Christians cringe and hang their head in disgust.

Well, maybe I use the word normal a little loosely. I'm not exactly normal. :p

Actually, I kind of use Christian loosely too. Maybe pseudo-Christian? Hrm. That's another thread entirely.

As a Christian I find this so very very embarrassing. Please know that not all Christian think this way. At less I don't.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
