Greetings from BFE! :welcome: My name's Danielle. I took the liberty of copying the obligatory questions.

Current location? Western Michigan (Drive west from Bay City and stop 10 miles before you drive off the pier in Ludington into Lake Michigan. That's where I am.)

Where from? I was born in Ann Arbor, raised in Ypsilanti, and have lived in numerous other cities since then. Canton, MI; Bradenton, FL; Clarkston, MI; Baumholder, Germany (I was in the Army from 2004-2006.); Pinckney, MI; Whitmore Lake, MI; Warren, MI. Yeah, I have moved around a lot...

Gender? Female

Work? Not currently but I just applied for a part-time position at the school I'm attending.

School? West Shore Community College. I took a long detour on my road to college but that alternate route is what has given me the determination to reach my goals. I'm taking my last prerequisite class this fall and I will be starting the R.N. program next fall, graduating May 2013 at which time we will likely move back to the metro Detroit area.

Kids? I am the proud parent of a 2-year old tornado named Payton. She is the driving force behind, well, pretty much everything that I do.

Married? No, I'm divorced.

Single? No, I've been in a long-term relationship since 2007.

Hobbies? I don't really have much in the way of hobbies right now unless you count studying. My boyfriend works 3rd shift and sleeps during the day so I spend most of my time taking care of our daughter. Before motherhood, I spent a lot of my time out at the clubs in the metro Detroit area. I was a frequent patron of CC (started going in 2001), Necto (2007-), and I danced at Mephisto's during the summer of 2007 before I got pregnant and stopped going to bars and clubs. All the secondhand smoke made me feel guilty so I avoided it if at all possible.

How Did You Find DGN? I was searching for somewhere to go dancing on this side of the state and found this site.

Other Stuff? I moved to the West side of the state 2 years ago after my daughter suffered a head injury while we were visiting family here. We moved to be closer to her neurologist. (She had a rough road but she's doing great. Seeing her now, you would never know what she has been through.) I miss Detroit sometimes. Where I live now, traffic is 4 cars stuck behind a tractor. Ugh!

My musical taste: Numb, 16 Volt, BlutEngel, VNV, Active Media Disease, Assemblage 23, Wolfsheim, And One, Project Pitchfork, KMFDM, Wumpscut, Stromkern, Icon Of Coil, Das Ich, ohGr, E-Craft, Funker Vogt, Covenant, Unit:187, Suicide Commando, etc. I love to dance so I'll listen to just about anything that I can dance to but I prefer music of the stompy variety.

Any other questions, just ask.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.
