DJ Nihil
Was a very compelling watch. Not as terrifying as Hell House, though. IMDb HH is a documentary on fundie Haunted Houses. Above is the trailer and the whole thing is on YouTube. Jesus Camp is to for those who are interested. My favorite scene from Jesus Camp, with a bit of humor added. ~Tszura~
This is scary. Shit like this brings me to tears. How can something be a symbol of love (Jesus~i.e. The Prince of Peace) that you go to war for? What kills me is that these kids are not even being given the chance to think for themselves yet. They have no choice. They're getting the poop scared out of them, and being told that they are NOTHING if they do not follow Jesus. You know how some people say we should put all the violent criminals on an island to have them fend for themselves? Well, I'm thinking the same thing right now for crazy, radical fundamentalists from all avenues. I'd like to see how they would all get along being trapped together with no where else to go
Tyger
You know how some people say we should put all the violent criminals on an island to have them fend for themselves? Well, I'm thinking the same thing right now for crazy, radical fundamentalists from all avenues. I'd like to see how they would all get along being trapped together with no where else to go I think they'd say "We'll be ok. Jesus will save us and provide for us." And they'll hope a cow falls out of the sky for them to eat... or the head lady in the video will hope for a Mcy D's. I think that's just a shame. Poor kids. Not even able to think for themselves and decide. It all because of the parents too. I don't think kids give a rats butt about religion till they are in high school really, when they are trying to find themselves. It's ridiculous. I love Harry Potter... TygerLili
I predict that: About half of these kids will grow up just like their parents and subject their children to this kind of teaching, never learning to think for themselves and just regurgitating everything that's been thrown at them. About a quarter of them will decide to become atheists or to worship pagan religions in their teens or early twenties, have a very strained or non-existent relationship with their parents, and have a blind hatred for all things related to Christianity and the Bible. The remaining quarter will end up in mental institutions or in prison for things like shooting abortion doctors or blowing up Muslim community centers. Just a rough estimate... Nelson
Cute thing about all this is that it was once the norm everywhere. Good thing the Dark Ages are over. We have more freedom to practice whatever we believe in. These fundamentalist groups who have a problem with religious tolerance should stand as a reminder of what once was, and what should not be!
