October 2nd, R.I.P. begins + D:Konstruct CD release party

Recommended Posts

Ok, finally, R.I.P. will begin on October 2nd, in the Leland Ballroom. This will be the first official night for the Ballroom becoming a gothic/old school retro lounge. We will have different DJ's spinning up through December in competition for the leading DJ's in 2011. We will also try to feature 1-2 bands usually at the end of the month. Come out and support the DJ's. We are going to try and make the Ballroom what the Lab/Ascension Uk vibe used to be. Scary Guy and Aaron Hingst will kick off the first one.

D:Konstruct will also be playing around midnight a 1 hour set in release of our new album "Stars Burning Out', a tribute to the Detroit scene. We will have CD's, new shirts, yadda yadda, for sale. The CD's cost $10 for 11 tracks. A lot of time and effort have been put into this new album. It is for you guys, all of you. Many of your names are also listed on the inside of the CD. The cost for all R.I.P. events is $5 so that we can pay the DJ's. Please come out to all the R.I.P. events so that we can have a regular thing their for the old schoolers. This also balances out what the DJ's are spinning in the main room as well. I also want to just say thanks to all of you who have come out and supported what we have tried to do over the past year. We do what we can and we appreciate your support and enthusiasm. This monthly event is for you.

See you soon,

robert

Even though the Lab is dead and Ascension UK is long gone, we will do our best to create an old school goth atmosphere that all of you can enjoy in R.I.P.. D:Konstruct had a good practice this past Sunday and we are ready to play the Ballroom once again. I just wanna say thank you to all of you who have come out to support Collective events and been a part of those events. I also wanna say thanks to all of you who have inspired me to get D:K up and going again. It is hard to be supported in your home town as a local band. This new album is all about the Detroit scene and our hopes that it keeps going forward and getting better. Please come out and support Nocker and Scary Guy and of course Aaron and Kat as we do our best to bring in the tunes that you like.

See you Saturday!

It was a good night, and you did a excellent performance. The ballroom did not sound too bad while you were performing. Sometimes the ballroom sounds like a echo chamber.

Sometimes? LoL

It was a good time, thanks again for the opportunity to spin. I tried to have a healthy mix of old and new suff. Everything from Christian Death to Crocodiles came out of my sets. Play list should be up soon I would think, feedback on that would be cool. Hope to see people out again.

    • Feeling happy to report that my neighbor and her cat are now back together.  I build her fur baby an indoor Cat Run and now the cat and her 3 kittens have been moved in.  I told my neighbor to make sure the little ones stay with their mother for at least 3 days in their new environment before she starts letting people handle and take the babies away.    I wish she would keep at least one of the 3 kittens, but apparently they are all already spoken for.

    • Well it happened, understandably but it still sucks.  I hated them both so I was going to be unhappy either way, but I do admit I hate Trump slightly more because of the narcissism, egomania, xenophobia, and misogyny.  On top of that that insufferable base of his who think that they are free to act the same way now that he's won.  The apologetics from them were horrible too where they handwaved away legitimate criticisms, and mocking those who brought them with "orange man bad!"   The one good thing to come out of this is punk music is going to absolutely rock for the next few years.  However I really just have one question... https://www.loudersound.com/features/andrew-eldritch-sisters-of-mercy-will-make-another-album-if-trump-is-elected IT'S HAPPENED TWICE NOW ANDY, WHERE'S OUR FUCKIN' ALBUM‽ Well, I guess at least I'll get to keep my guns.
