I just discovered these guys about a month ago, and they have become a recent fave.

A tour is in the works for 2011, and Im hoping they come to Detroit.

The guy's voice reminds me of Pscylon 9, but flows really well with the music.

Decent band. They are actually from Canada, but their name caught my attention obviously.

They played the 5th day at Montreal's Kinetik Festival, where there performance I remember as being just simply OK.

Hopefully they develop more of their own characteristic as they currently sound like the two dozen other goblinTrance bands out there.

A band to watch in the future perhaps.

I'm surprised the corporation of the same name (which is part of the Daimler group) hasn't sued them yet over the name. They like to do that kind of thing lol.

Im usually not a fan of harsh vocals at all, and agree with you 100%, however for some reason this band stood out to me for some reason and thought Id give them some recognition.

Yeah, sadly there are alot of bands that (korg+digital performer+reason+fruityloops+vocal processor = album) sound the same, and or use alot of similar sound samples/effects. ...or just use really really shitty samples period.

Case in point, Diary of Dreams song "the wedding"

The song opens up with what sounds like a little kid's piano, and then the(strings+orchestra hits+vocal) come in which just sounds like total crap to me.

Interesting, doesn't sound like there's any upright bass whatsoever in that track (more synth bass) yet the video has some rooster-head playing one. Diary of Dreams isn't as bad as some other bands out there...

Just got the full length debut "Terre Humaine". Still stand by my statement that the vocals are very cliche'd goblin-trance (with a few unique tricks). HOWEVER the music/programming is top notch and highly impressive. These guys know how to write a killer track. Check this one out for sure people and expect to be hearing more tracks at City very soon.

Do you know much more about them? (are they actually from Detroit?)

They're from Canada actually. Got there start in 2006. The CD comes out on the german Infacted Records label in a few weeks. They've also been licensed to Death Watch Asia (DWA) for Japan. The CD was mastered by Jan from Noisuf-X and if you know Jan's production work all his stuff has a serious kick in the baby-maker sound quality to it!

Detroit Diesel arrived like a bomb a couple of months ago with their debut single “Lost Signals” and I can tell you that the single have been played a lot and I have been waiting for the debut album “Terre Humaine” ever since. November 12th is the release date of the album that comes with a total of 16 tracks including 4 bonus remixes from bands like C-Lekktor, FGFC820, Soman and Die Sektor.

“Terre Humaine” is actually the name of their self-released demo that the band released in 2009 before they became a part of Deathwatch Asia and Infacted Recordings and by which Deathwatch Asia decided to release the album, consolidated from the demo.

Even if the whole aggrotech/harsh EBM scene sound much alike, the music on “Terre Humaine” feels very fresh and is a true club smasher with fast-paced action from the very first second. With interesting and innovative additions to the sound the sound is very unique and very well arranged. And the fact that the album have been mastered by Jan L. of X-M-P/X-Fusion fame gives it to the taste. But it’s not only dark and harsh EBM sounds. The track “Not Yet”, one of several instrumental ones, has a really great structure and a brighter sound then other tracks with its very cool Techno and Trance influences.

With stunning melodies, a fresh and distinctive sound and powerful beats “Terre Humaine” is an outstanding album and is beyond my imagination of what I ever expected.
