DGN @ City Club, Saturday, October 16th

Come. Join us. Meet us. Hang out. We're not that scary in person, really.

Leland City Club

400 Bagley Street

Downtown Detroit

You enter by going through an unmarked door on the First Street side of The Leland Hotel building just before the gated parking area on the side of the building nearest 1st Street. The club is at the top of the stairwell. (see picture in the link above in the DGN calendar entry)

All are welcome. Come meet some of us weirdos.

Saturday nights from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Alcoholic drinks until 2:00 a.m., pop and juices served all night.

Admission is $4

18 and up, 21 to drink with proper ID (no exceptions).

No drugs, weapons, chains or spikes.

(The map isn't quite exact. The Ramada is located within the Bagley, 1st, Cass, Plaza Dr. block.)

In case you don't know the "DGN Corner" is to the right of the bar. Currently theres a table, pillar and white couch there, impossible to miss. Come say hello. If no one is there, stay there, they will show up.

I am so starved for dancing around (i.e. flailing, depending on BAC) to loud shit I love with people I like. Really considering lifting the CC Embargo...

What's CC's offer? Will it disappoint like it did last year? What's this R.I.P. stuff all about and why do they actually have DJs I enjoy? Do they just call in awesome DJs and force them to play CC's prior crappy stuff? Is it a trap? You're all trying to find a way to lure me to CC and kidnap me...I'm on to you :tongue:.

The DJ's in the front room are awesome to, they just dont play the same stuff. They play equally cool stuff of a different sub genre, but I already started a thread for that :p

No I honestly have no problem with the occasional CombiChrist. Fuck I couldn't give a fuck if they laid in some pop here and there if it fit the theme. It was just, seemingly, for awhile there CC's music was taking an overall bland downward turn where it was nothing but really non-descript trancey-techno crap mixed in with the same obligatory songs that have been lathered, rinsed and repeated for how many years now? I have checked out the RIP setlist and was impressed, so as I said, Chernobyl will probably be lifting the CC Embargo anytime now. I also like the collective and the work that is put forth in the name of the scene and for the arts, not just the money.

Even the few times I was able to make it last year in the winter/spring, I noticed the music had improved from the few years before. Just...was consistently broke and getting financially raped by tenants with no steady work and false promises. All that is fixed now and everyone is actually pulling their weight around my residence, so odds are you will start to see me more. I even complained to Pest that I feel so old and frumpy because I'm out of the loop so bad and that should not happen to anyone who is only 25!
