DGN appreciation night 1 and 2 were both held at City, as LCC wanted to thank DGN for its contributions to the community.

We are now getting zero cooperation from City for throwing a third. So, let's start a dialogue about where we as a community would like to do this.

Let's hear some ideas, some thoughts. This is the DGN mod staff throwing an appreciation night for you.

Where do YOU think we should hold this? Please tell us why, too. :)

PS-

Please, keep this civil and mind the PNP of dgn. We've seen before things get a little nasty over admission based on age at some venues. We've seen things like "fuck that place, everyone there sucks" when 3/4 of the community has been there at some point. I don't want to see anything like that in this thread.

I can't believe CC has hoed us so bad...I almost want to reinstate my boycott on the place. It's fucking ridiculous. I'm still wondering why anyone goes there, but that's aside from the point. Basically, CC has indirectly told us through their inaction that they DON'T appreciate us or our business. I will probably take my clubbing elsewhere, if anywhere, or just attend events.

Maybe Necto? I've never been there and there is a certain person that helps to run the place that I, and many others, cannot stand. Honestly, it's the only place I can even think of that would qualify.

Or MAYBE the "Appreciation" part of the title could insinuate members that appreciate DGN and not necessarily a specific club appreciating us?

If we were to do it like that, we would probably have a $5 donation. This would go to cover the cost of the party (mainly the alcohol) and any of the money left over would be donated directly to DGN's coffer. Would have to talk this over with the boyfriend however.

So it would be a party that would be cheaper for people than CC (even though CC DGN Nights gave discounted cover, there were no discounts on drinks). I like how with CC you can be Joe-Schmoe-Preppy-Ass, walk in there saying it's your b-day, and get you and an assload of your friends in for FREE and discounted drinks...but on DGN night all we got was a reduced admission and no drink price reductions...?

So CC took our money, didn't give us any discounts, didn't give BACK to the community (sorry, making mods babysit the stage so other people couldn't get up to an area that is usually fully accessible is NOT really "giving back") and they "appreciate" us?

You know I <3 almost all you like you were my childrens, have been a dedicated and active member of the mod staff, and would most likely be giving money BACK to DGN directly in the form of cash for this party. It would be like Devil's Night also where people could BYOB, and if you brought anything in the form of cans/bottles, I would take them back to Meijer and give the return money to DGN also.

The donation part would be contingent on attendance though. Like I said, would take only what money is necessary to break even on the party, anything over that I would most likely give back to the board.

I only wish I knew how much money CC pays Marvin each weekend. I could imagine it now: "Hey Marvin, you know how CC pays you ________ every weekend? I will double that if you bartend our party..."

I know I'm scrapped for cash with everything in my life right now, but I'd give more than $5 bucks. DGN is the one place where I can really talk without having to fear (mostly) that people are going to judge me. It's been my safe harbor this past year with my dad's cancer, and dealing with Charlie leaving. I'm pretty sure without this place I would have done something really stupid. I owe you guys a lot..

Wellll, it's about a 3 hour drive for me, heh heh, but I'll definitely do me best to be there. I'll bring some good munchies too if allowed to.

I think this should be the most awesome appreciation ever ever.

Well since no one will go to a club aside from CC or Necto, chances are it will have to be at someones house, as you said it has to be a place that people actually go to. People are saying chern's...Otherwise I would say Northern Lights Lounge because the bar is awesome. But its also 21+ which will eliminate a few people...

And are you all really that surprised about CC? lol

To be fair, DGN as a community has abused the ever loving shit out of CC on here.

The DJ's have taken their share of abuse here.

Even after two appreciation nights there.

If I were CC, I'm not sure I'd green light a third one to a group that drags the companies name through the mud constantly either.
