Isn't it Un-American or something to admit to likeing the french? Honestly I wish american's were as willing to unite and stand up for themselves as most of europe is though.

I have never heard that it was un-American to like the French. I agree with you 150% on your statement though. Would be nice if American's united and stood up for our rights like they do in Europe.

I'm not saying everything in Europe is perfect in case anyone decides to pick at my feelings/statement. At least they are trying is what I'm saying.

Its ancient history now but I was jokingly referring to the whole anti-french movement back in 03. France was the main opponent in the UN of our war in Iraq. At the time conservatives wanted us to boycott everything french and even got congress to temporarily rename french fries and french toast to freedom fries and freedom toast in federal cafeterias.

Oh yea, now I remember. That lasted a long time didn't it? lol

We shouldn't forget that France was the first country to recognize America as a nation plus, they did help us win the revolution.

Also, it looks like they were on to a good idea by apposing the war in Iraq. Things haven't exactly gone as planned over there.

Oh wait, G.W.B. said the Iraq war was over back in 07 didn't he? What we still fighting for?

I fail to see how what happened is considered awesome or anything like that. I mean really? How many times do airlines screw up, piss off the passengers, and then there is a huge standoff in the boarding area and on the plane because half of the people want to leave and the others don't...hmmm? I see it almost every time I go to the damn airport.

This story just highlights a handful of the large percentage of whiny little bitches in the airports...just get off, buy a Cinnabon, and wait like everyone else.

Oh and before we go praising France didn't they go ahead and ban the Burqa...oh yeah they did...and their immigration laws are kinda racist if you look into them. But...it not America so the must be better huh...

Really? I soppose it would be fun to randomly burn cars and set businesses on fire.

BTW... American's did unite and stand up for our rights.. Perhaps you missed the 2010 election and all the Tea Party canidates that won?

The French, from what I've been able to gather, are good at three things:

A) Complaining about stuff that is trivial

B) Running in at the last minute in a war, jumping in on the winning side, then acting all big and tough because "they won the war" when they didn't really do much.

C) Coldwave

Not going to lie, probably my LEAST favorite country/culture/language in Europe...

Deutschland/Britain FTW!

I didn't want to go too hard on the French in one single post, they might declare war for no real reason. At least they don't have their manliest warrior anymore, Joan of Arc, or else we would be fucked.

Hey...Napoleon was a badass. Though he was Corsican which would make him closer to the Italians

OH please, next election will swing the other way. Like it has done for decades.

Please get over this small election already. I'm posting about something entirely different k?

Thank you

1. It may just swing the other way... but I doubt it and most political analyst doubt it too.

2. If the largest swing in political power in almost 100 years is "small" to you.. what do you consider a "big" election.

3. Denial doesn't make things go away. Protesting and standing up for what you believe in is exactly what the Tea party has just done. It's exactly what you were saying Americans can't/won't do. There doesn't have to be severe property damage for a protest/movement to be real.

Back on subject:

Did anyone consider the fact they were complaining against RyanAir?

French or not, looking at travel watchdog sites, this airline is near the bottom of barrel in customer service, communication, courtesy. They make the rudest US domestic airline look like the Presidential Pilot's Office (the ones who control Air Force One.)

The fact that the owner has some of the most crackpot ideas published regarding air travel only adds to the angst.

It doesn't really matter what airline it is really. First of all you are looking at air travel where you need to expect the worst and you should probably assume that people will be rude and the whole thing won't be fun. Second, there are going to be delays and there are endless causes and alot of them are stupid...

Its air travel and even if the airline isn't good at all I think the French went overboard on this one...the are the human equivalent at monkeys throwing poop around when something doesn't go their way...like people wearing traditional Muslim clothing or something not going perfect at the airport.

I think this story makes them look even worse than before...children act more civilized than those people!

Oh and to add further insult to the French...even a my 6 year old nephew know that if you cheap out when buying shit...this shit is going to prove why its cheap. They bought a cheap flight and they got a cheap flight...oh they are so great for "protesting" that...

Granted.

220 miles away though seems a bit excessive (the shortest road distance between the Belgium airport and Paris,) to not offer transport to the final destination.

Not familiar with EU guidelines on flights though.

I was going to say something along the lines of 'burning cars and the destruction of property ' ...not really needed here. The people in this country don't fall to that low of a standard as to burn shit for bullshit reasons... unless people are protesting the 'racist' police here in this coutnry. Then you can expect some cars burnt..

OR you can expect protest when law is enforced over a natural disaster area, which then causes the local population (that refused to evacuate) to cry racism over the cops arresting them for looting and other bouts of larceny!

Yea! REVOLT!
