Raev
Previously, I asked the community to list what they would like to hear the DJs spin. Some good information came from that. This question is a little different. If you had a 60 minute setlist to fill, what would yours look like? Why do I ask? Because it not only will show what the community likes to hear but HOW they like to hear it. A lull in the middle to rest, pee and get a new drink maybe? Beatmatching? Nonstop high energy? Share share! Let the DJs know how you like to hear it. DJs, please please PLEASE weigh in with your experiences! The more we communicate, the better we can make the club experience for everybody. The poor DJs who take their share of lumps around here, the patrons, former patrons, everybody.

The purpose of the DJ is to expose people to new music, KEEP WITH THE THEME OF THE NIGHT, mix well, keep the floor moving and play a few requests here and there. So making a "perfect playlist is kind of silly from a DJ perspective. But I will watch the thread... What is the theme of the night? (Yes im being serious)
Raev
From a DJ perspective it may be silly but the intent is to find out what gets the people moving and what makes it the most fun for them.

killyosaur
I want a set list that introduces me to new stuff that is similar to that which I enjoy and is mixed well. Honestly, I think that if we really want to be able to hear certain styles or subgenres of music it would be nice if the DJ's started promoting themselves based on the styles they are most likely to play or enjoy playing. It would help the rest of the community to know when and where to go to hear and dance to the music they enjoy. It also ensures that a request you make would more likely get played as the DJ's who share your musical tastes will probably like that band and have their works with them. So, if you are a fan of Wolfsheim you'll know not to go on the night the Noise guy is spinning as he probably won't have it and wouldn't spin it if he did. On the other hand, if you are big into the Noise, as I tend to be, you get out when, say, DJ Saint is spinning because he is more likely to spin Noise than anything else. This, ironically, was the topic of the following thread: http://www.detroitgothic.net/index.php?showtopic=34245&st=0&p=709617&fromsearch=1&#entry709617 started by Nocker, which got completely derailed by people who apparently did not understand what Nocker was getting at in the thread. It ended up going from an interesting way to promote the DJ's, one that is done in other cities and states, to being another iteration of the "What do you want to hear the DJ's play?" thread.
