A "Goth's" house

Okay, so what kinds of things do you have lying around your house that may not be laying around most of your neighbor's, or "The infamous Joneses" house?

Okay,

A chain laying on my couch

deck of tarot cards

..................next?

A framed Munsters family portrait

Books on horror culture

horror icon bobbleheads

creepy dolls and toys

some Edward Gorey stuff

Nightmare stuff

dvds

my music collection

my drawings

wardrobe (lot of black skinny jeans, studded belts)

an assortment of plush bat dolls

But I'd like to think of it as more of a deathrockish/necrotrash/b-culture kinda thing.

a hookah.

an anatomical skeleton (plastic, not real. Sigh!).

My gun cabinet. It's purple with silver speckles. It's the Pixie Prince Pistol Palace. Not exactly goth, but it sure ain't your Teabagger uncle's. Yeee Haw!

my ofrendas. It includes two that I made myself. One is the ol' lady and myself (from Valentines two years ago). The other is my dad. I'll be adding one for my dog who died last year.

a closet full of leather.

I have over 50 taxidermied tarantulas aligning the border of my room.

I have 20 halloween decapitated heads hanging from the ceiling in my walk-in closet.

I have 15 different lifesize pewter skulls aligning my computer desk.

I have the complete collection of hellraiser action figures on my shelf.

Also I have a nightmare before christmas cemetary scene that is getting too complex. (I have to take pics of this soon but it is just too large)

I have a hallway filled with 3-D gortraits.

To top it off I have my morbid artwork filling every other empty space on my walls.

Well I would say I almost finished with my haunted house... Damn it! It's X-mas!

I have taxidermied around twenty of the fifty on my walls, mostly from the molts of the tarantulas, only taxidermied a few from ones that have passed. But you need a steady hand and patience so you do not destroy the entire specimen. From the molts most of the cleaning is done for you, its just the abdomen that is hard to fill and put back together that is tricky, also one must get the humidity right to work so you can position the tarantula and how you would like it to appear. Also there are key spots to apply alcohol or any other drying agent so that your specimen does not attract bugs. Once your specimen is dried one must be carful while handling and framing it, for one false move and all your work is shattered.

Sorry kat, sort of took your posting to an obscure tangent...

A pile of black boots.

Select books and movies of the darker variety.

A pile of fishnets and stockings on my dresser?

Of course, this all pertains to my room only.

Yessss haha, piles of boots and fishnets everywhere.

ripped up stockings and tights in general hanging off of doors and dressers, a dresser with a whole half section dedicated to costume wear and club wear, and other than that I'm a fail goth. I have a whole section of disney vhs movies in my bookshelf.

there is NOTHING GOTH ABOUT THAT.

nothing.
