At the mountains of madness by Guillermo Del Toro

Cruise as Dyer?

If it was Danforth (goes insane at the end,) or Lake (leads the camp that gets slaughtered,) I would be all for it. Then again, I have found him annoying in recent years.

I mean cruise is mad... so being in a movie about being driven mad by the unknown.... I guess he could do it.

I have total faith in Del Toro making Tom Cruise not suck.

Same here, but I am a little surprised there is further news about the film as I thought this project got canceled due to studios balking at the 150 million dollar price tag? http://io9.com/#!5778967/del-toros-mountains-of-madness-not-happening-after-all

Granted that doesn't mean it won't happen, I am just curious if we have heard anything new on this...

I did hear something like this yes... I guess the long and the short of it was that the studio insisted that it have a PG-13 rating if they were going to front the money for it, and Del Toro would not make a watered down version of it... so they could not agree.
