Tattoo artist recomendation

Recommended Posts

I want to get the tattoo on my wrist covered up and I need some suggestions on talented artists. They need to be experienced with tattooing over scars and doing cover ups. I'm also wondering if I should wait until I switch jobs to do it because I'm always doing the dishes at where I work. Would that interfere with it healing properly?

I got most of my stuff done at "N2Skin" which is off of Orchard Lake road. I dont know about how well they do with scars/cover ups though.

Chris and Dwayne at American Graffiti in Brighton (americangraffititattoos.com) do a great job with cover ups. They have both been in the biz for about as long as I've been alive (I'm 28) Outstanding artists. Also Rachael (thier peircer)is certified in Blood borne Pathogens & The Principles of infection Control. She has very extensive knowledge on treatment of both tats and piercings. 810-220-2066.

Also, shoot a message over to Rev Reverence or Oh_My_Goth, both know a plethora of very talented artist that may work out better for you if Brighton is too far away.

My sister gets all her work done by Chris, he's amazing.

I got mine done from one of our very own DGNers, LoTek, at his shop in Shelby Township called Lucky Devil. He does excellent work and his wife is also an artist there.

They are both very comfortable to work with and they are very good at what they do.

I highly recommend them and their shop.

Ok updates are in order. Did you find an artist? Where did you go? Was is a good experience?

If you did I have another recommendation. That might be a better location for you (I'm not sure where you live)

Ben at Love Sick Tattoo Parlor Custom Tattoo Work and Body Piercing 248.495.2064 at 129 Rochester rd., Clawson, MI 48017. Great artist. You can check out his work, including some very impressive cover up on his facebook page listed below.

Let us know how everything turns out :)

Well I haven't done anything yet. I'm super picky and want to find an artist that I love and will be happy with them doing the cover up and eventually doing the back piece I want. Plus all my money keeps going to my piercing projects haha. I'll get it eventually and I guess I'll put an update on here. The more suggestions the better. I'm going to go back and review the artists everyone has posted.

Also I live in Bloomfield hills but I am totally willing to travel even to other states.

I work at Crazy Wolf 8 Mile Tattoo, we don't scratch or carve, and our head artist Ringo is a master with skin. I'll also be working at our 11 Mile location very soon! Sometimes he hooks up discounts for my friends, or for DGNers.

how is he with portiat style tattoo's I'm looking to get another Bettie Page done or start my vest pieces, not any time soon, prolly around late spring early summer, but the guy that did my first Bettie Page is starting to become unrealiable, and more then likely need to find a new artist, but feel kinda nervous about letting a "new" guy do portiat work.
