Anyone need a new number?

Recommended Posts

I'm with Sprint and have been with them since May last year. After my ex and I broke up, I put his phone number on seasonal standby, rendering his number unusable (unless he needed to check his voicemail). He wasnt helping with the bill since he was jobless. He moved to Florida shortly after 'losing' his phone number.

So I'm still with Sprint and have an extra number, with no phone attached to it. The area code is 989 and again, the service provider is Sprint. I want to get rid of this phone number without paying the early termination fee. Speaking with a customer service rep, she said that if someone had a phone and wanted to take the number, it was possible for that number to get it's own plan. No early termination fee whatsoever.

So if you need a new number or know anybody that does, I have a 989 area code number that's up for grabs. Contracts with sprint are fairly affordable for a single person (my plan with 450 anytime minutes and unlimited texting costs about $60 after taxes). I need to get rid of this phone number and I dont want to spend the $120 to terminate the number when I could be putting that money towards bills.

Let me know!

Interesting idea. Not that I can help due to my current phone situation.

So somehow taking an existing number, from an existing plan gets around (somehow) the ever-present contract agreements? Seems like that wouldn't be the case since the person taking the number would (most likely) be a "new user" and that , I thought, started a new contract. Guess not. /ponder

..and your signature comment "good taste is subjective" true, true... well unless there are hugs or pirates are involved, hugs (and pirates) are OBJECTIVELY PROVEN by NASA (and Troy Spiral Technologies™©®) to be very good taste. :secret:
