Destroit
When I used to loiter in the parking lot of this one strip club, after the club closed we would sometimes go to an after hours at 7 Mile and Mound in a place called Brandy's Bar. I used to get SO nervous because I was about 18-19 at the time and fresh off of probation, so I was always afraid the place was going to get raided while I was there. This article doesn't surprise me, because after frequenting the place a few times I found out why they had such immunity: It was police RAN (yes RAN, didn't just "allow it", weren't just "paid off" but ran). So I was 19, fresh off parole, and kicking back tequila with most of the officers in the City of Detroit without even knowing it. Even police-ran blind pigs get raided though, but it is almost always like this where it's getting tipped off first. The same thing happened to Brandy's Bar, one week I had someone call me and ask if I wanted to go and I said I was going to CC that night. They told me it was probably going to be the last opportunity I had to go because rumors were going around that internal affairs was catching wind of what was going on. I thought they were bluffing, but sure enough, no more than a week or two later the officers running the blind pig mysteriously stopped doing so and if you go in and ask anything about it now, the bartenders "don't know what you're talking about". Article also reminds me of the gas station at Dequindre and 7 Mile, the fact that grade-school boys were out in the parking lot slinging all day without being busted what-so-ever. They gave a decent cut of their profits to DPD officers, who then agreed to look away. I lived a block from that station with by then-boyfriend for a summer, and EVERY NIGHT these kids (like four-five) were out there openly pushing shit. Destroit
"...104 grams of cocaine, 1.4 grams of heroin and 54 grams of an unidentified crystal powder from the house." WTFFFF!!!!! 104 grams of cocaine, off the top of my head, would be anywhere from $8,320 to $10,400!!!!! SOMEONE was gettin' Sheenfaced! The heroin was probably not nearly that much, and I have no idea about meth because I'm so old, it wasn't on the scene when I was younger hardly. Glad I only had to deal with cokeheads and junkies, people on meth frighten even me. "...104 grams of cocaine, 1.4 grams of heroin and 54 grams of an unidentified crystal powder from the house."
