Not really liking the way "status comments" and "comments" along with PMs / quote notifications ect are getting all jumbled together due to the changes in the new system. But , its a complicated web to change that stuff (some of it near impossible at my level of understading of how IPB works) *stares at interface*... ugh no wait... must get nap and go to doctor soon.. damn that whole "sleep" idea...

Plus its hard to tell which notifications in your "notification list" (list that pops up when you click on the little number next to yoru name) you've read and not read.

I get all excited when I get a new notification and then I find out it something like...someone quoted me. Then I get let down .

I thought I saw that there was some control for turning off the notifications when you're quoted. Was I imagining it? Someone quote me so I can see it again.

here, you can change all of the various notification options...

also, pm notifications pop up on your user name, other notifications appear beside (to the right of) it.

Thanks! I'm next to useless with a computer but I think I got it.

I'm having an issues where the emails aren't grouping in my Gmail like they used to. Anyone have any ideas?

Gmail seems to group mine up automatically without me having any particular setting set. I've been testing various settings and the closest thing I can find is:

My Settings > Notification Options > Notification Preferences > Watch every topic I reply to > Notification Option: Daily Digest.

This seems odd as I doubt we wan't to subscribe (get notified of all replies) to EVERY topic we post in. But that is the only place I'm seeing the "daily digest" option.

I remember a more clearly worded "daily digest" setting to just group all my notifications (this one reads as if I have to subscribe to every topic to get it to work.)

Due to the strange wording I'm not quite sure how it will work (testing it now but it wont trigger the "daily digest" part i think until the next (midnight?) so I can't tell if that actually works or not.

Still looking into how to get the whole system to separate (and make it more clear) what they are notifying you about. EVERYTHING being called a "personal conversation" is misleading. (Along with the aforementioned inability to tell , at least not easily, which ones you have read and haven't read.)

Also I think i prefer the old "pop box" notification method for new PMs so that people that aren't paying attention (its easy to miss for some users) know they have a PM. You can change it manually to poup but i'd rather have it set that way as default. (OMG I just said something in favor of popups).
