Within Temptation @ Sound Academy, Toronto Sept. 7th

Recommended Posts

Oh, wow!!! I would love to see them, but I highly doubt we will be able to make the trip. We missed Rammstein for the same reason :( Gah! I wonder what prevents certain bands from playing in this area when they're already playing Toronto, and then CHicago. Hmph! Oh, well. I've seen some kick ass shows around here, so I certainly have nothing to complain about :)

Well, there have been rumours on their site that they are planning to tour further in 2012, so hopefully they will be back in the area early next year. I'm kinda hoping for that since I don't have an enhanced license...

Sweet! I'll cross my fingers! :)

To be honest, its because people around here dont go out to shows unless its the big name people, and even then its a risk of breaking even...

When you come to Detroit expecting to play for a crowd and play in front of 12 people, its not exactly uplifting :(

Exactly. The first time I saw The Birthday Massacre back in '07, there was only about 75 people at The Pike Room. It was kind of disappointing, considering how great the show was. And most of the people there were 14-16... Not the best concert crowd, imho.

Yeap, I've read many a band interview stating that Detroit either isn't lucrative enough, the crowd is hostile, or they're sick of being robbed and/or having equipment jacked. We pretty much only have ourselves to blame, except for that last one; we have crackheads to blame for that.

I thought they were blowing off all the 2011 shows. Didn't Sharon just have a baby?

This is true! I guess I also wonder how much the bigger venues are charging around here. When I made the comment, I was thinking more about Rammstein. They're big, and I guess I assume they would draw a big crowd. Its for this assumption, that I was wondering why they wouldn't come to Detroit, further wondering if it had anything to do with how much the bigger venues were charging.
