‘Sound Opinions’ to salute Wax Trax! Records

Recommended Posts

Should be an interesting listen... educational and entertaining (edu-tainment!)

This week's episode of the Chicago-based "Sound Opinions" radio show — billed as "the world's only rock 'n' roll talk show" — will look back at the legacy of Wax Trax! Records and its role in the '80s industrial-music scene, and will feature an interview with former Revolting Cocks and Ministry members Chris Connelly and Paul Barker. The duo sat down with hosts Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis, both longtime Chicago music critics, during the label's Retrospectacle: 33⅓ Year Anniversary festival this past April to discuss their music, Wax Trax! and late label founders Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher. The show premieres Friday and runs throughout the weekend on public radio stations across the country; on Monday, it will be available here to stream online or download as a podcast.

Tune in! If any of you have ever read Connelly's book Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible + Fried: My Life as a Revolting Cock - you'll be familiar with Connelly as a great fact recaller and story teller. The radio interview should be equally as enlightening.
