Troy Spiral (13)
I found about 4 different versions of this but they are all pretty similar: "Have you ever been in love? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one person, , enters into your stupid life...You offer them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain." - Neil Gaiman (Author of The Sandman and other works) Interesting. More due to the source than any "originality" doesnt make it any less true though.

Homicidalheathen
Ouchie how this rings only too true. I have felt that my heart was actually being ripped out of my chest on more than one occasion. I found about 4 different versions of this but they are all pretty similar: "Have you ever been in love? I think love is great in all its forms, even in the most painful it allows one to be creative and express pain in different forms of art, and well, even when I've felt like this, I look beyond the pain and realize that its for the best. And the Pain allows me to go on with life, to come to the reality that its over and life goes on. Not only that but the beauty that love has given me the pleasure of feeling balences out the horrilbe after effects of love. Even at my most lowest points, I believe the experience I got out of it was well worth it ... for me anyway ...=)
Head Wreck
love is great. even when it dies it gives you strength and a bloody nose to learn from. just because you've been knocked down dont mean you cant get back up and find another drink at the bar
