Troy Spiral (13)
Do you have any good comedy movies / TV show suggestions? With the emphasis being on actually funny rather than say "groundbreaking".

Lacilliyr
The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. It's low budget, but hilarious, I love it. It's available on netflix, disc only. Used to be instant queue. It's about this group of DnD friends that are short one person. They end up, reluctantly, recruiting a female friend to play. I don't want to say anymore, I really do hate synopsis that give away too much, but its the only movie I've quoted so much from. Even more than Evil Dead in all three movies. If you're into stand up comedy I have tons of names. I absolutely love stand up comedy.
Troy Spiral (13)
"So bad its funny" hah. For me thats worse than the "this is good comedy because its Avant-garde". Random recent stuff I watched: Just finished all of The Big Bang Theory seaons that are finished , for a science/video game geek like me that is some good sheeet. P The British series Red Dwarf was pretty good as well but as the series progressed they tried to turn it to much into an "action adventure" to keep it on the air so it suffered in quality. 30 Rock is a quality comedy (also done with all finished seasons). Archer (same as above) really good stuff.

Destroit
Trailer Park Boys. Amazingly original, honestly every time we show someone new they're like "Wtf, this is so weird, I've never seen a show in this format...". The only show I can think of that is VERY loosely similar would be Ed, Edd & Eddy, but really that's only because of the three main characters in this show. It's not just a seven season show, but there have been two movies and I think five "specials" spawned from it. From the same crew that brings you Hobo With A Shotgun and Happy Fun Time Drunk and on Drugs. Canadian comedy at it's best, and if you've ever been in any trailer park for more than an hour, you'll happen to notice that it's freakishly accurate. The actual story line is very engrossing also, and has deep life moments that anyone human would find humorously touching. You can watch all the episodes, movies, and specials here: www.tpbcentral.com Edited August 22, 2011 by Chernobyl
phee
I have always had a soft spot for the movie "Overboard" if you want typical Hollywood stuff. If you want something a bit more off the beaten path for a comedy... *tries to think of something not totally twisted that is only funny to him*... um... Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead... I thought it was funny.

Plus for some reason the red head (Felica Day) that is them main character wants me really bad, I might have to change my address and phone number. I do like Stand Up too, but I'm running out of stuff. I've got stuff going back to the 70s that I dug up for most all the "bigger named" comedians. Hell even guys like Bill Hicks (who I love) is starting to sound mainstream to me hah.

Guest Megalicious
I'll try and give semi- normal examples, as my taste is rather strange when it comes to what I find funny. The first thing that comes to mind is the Marx Brothers - A Night at the Opera. DEATH TO SMOOTCHY- one of my favorite movies of all time, I still laugh the WHOLE way through. I love Sheldon....I may not be able to change the world, but I can make a dent! Also the cookie song.... I think I laughed so hard it literally hurt. That movie is awesome sauce. Schizopolis.- for the dork in me. Gory Gory Hallelujah- need I say more lol- it's not good by anymeans, but funny Buffalo 66'- Vincents crazy, mad rambling always gets a laugh from me (it doesn't hurt that he is super hot...). Ghost World- Great movie, awesome soundtrack. Then there are classics from my childhood; Timebandits, Heathers, Gremlins, Little Shop of Horrors (the 80s version musical- I had this hard core crush on Rick/Seymour as my love for dorks started young lol) ...the list goes on and on....
