It is magically delicious yes. Most people get turned away from chadnina (again not proper spelling) when they find out what the literal translation means. That one is also good, but dill pickle is still my favorite.

Ah yes duck blood soup also very yummy!

I've been told it also comes in pudding...

I think that Czarnina is a funny Polish dish, just because it's an Easter dish. But if you celebrate Easter, one can assume you're Christian (I believe, more specifically, that they tend to be heavily Catholic if I'm not mistaken).

The catch? If you eat any kind of blood, the bible says you go to hell. True story, someone must have skipped that part .

Of course, I don't believe in any of that stuff, so I can dive right the hell in. Never have tried it, I would be game (rofl, no pun intended).

Another reason I like the name, Czarny in Polish is black, Cherny in Russian means the same thing...make it a city and you have Chernobyl (soup ).

If I remember my history correctly, it is actually made out of blood because they were poor. They didn't have a lot of money and they could only eat what they had. They didn't want anything to go to waste, because they didn't have much else. And yes a majority of them are Catholic. I have a lot of polish blood in me. but I'm a little mut. I'm polish, irish, german, french, russian, bohemian, and hungarian. Those are all I know of, but there could be more. I'm only 3rd and 4th generation in this country. Obviously those boarders in europe have changed a lot in history. Lol and the bible might say something like that in the old testament, but in the new testament it doesn't really say that. So being able to eat it is fine unless it is the time of year you can't eat meat on fridays.

Anyway... This thread really makes me want to make something awesome for dinner tomorrow and tell you all about it. I'll figure it out in the morning before class and if I do, I'll give you all and update.

I am slowly learning.

I have some chili pepper today which I'm eventually going to put in homemade, no-bean turkey chili to cancel out the blandness. I got buffalo sauce for my frozen chicken because I like mildly spicy. I was cooking cheeseburgers with onions I helped grow last year, but the hamburger definitely needed some sort of seasoning to be superb. I make simple omelletes. I prefer a moderate amount of butter over any other cooking spray.

I've been catatonic about it for months, but there was a time when I was immersed in the deadly game of bread baking, and I made many soul-crushing mistakes working on the perfect honey-wheat loaf recipe.

one of my faves is my egg sandwich...fry about 5 pieces of bacon, using the bacon grease fry 2 eggs yokes popped ,at the end ad your fav cheese.toast 2 breads and butter them. put egg and cheese on 1 slice of the toasted bread ,add bacon, top with other piece of bread and smash down.let sit for 2 minutes and .. consume

^ Yes, I like the egg and bacon sandwich, but I skip the cheese, always use white bread, use only two strips of bacon, and add ketchup. Probably not as good as yours, but it's exactly the way my dad used to make them for me, so I love it.

I think I do pretty well in the kitchen. My chicken enchiladas are decent. I have had compliments on my deviled eggs and Alfredo sauce, but I personally think the sauce was lacking. I like my macaroni, my chicken roll-ups (pretty much chicken cordon bleu, but not breaded and served over wild rice), and my blackened chicken breasts.
