Press-on nails - fingers and/or toes

Recommended Posts

I'm capable of doing my own gel or acrylics. But it's a pain in the ass and I don't feel like the trouble.

I was perusing the nail supplies at Walmart the other day and liked what I saw in the new generation of full press-on nails. They come with the option of using glue instead of the double-stick crap that never worked.

I have an occasion coming up in Early September, and my toenails and fingernails look like crap. I was actually thinking about giving both a try. But I don't want to be mid-party and discover I've got 8 fabulous looking toes, and two decidedly unmatching eyesores. Likewise on the fingers.

Have you used any of these? Are they any good? Should I gamble on them?

I used some like 6 years ago, (GF had a ton of them, I was just F-ing arond) the glue works pretty good although its not awesome, i think its intended to 'break off' so you don't tear off your real nails. I never used the "stick on" kind but I remember my mom saying how they sucked when I was a little boy. The glue-on ones don't come off at least mine didn't until i wanted them to.

Also I think you can get a manicure/pedicure for like $25 bucks right? Is that a lot or a little? (seems like even just a bottle of nail polish is like what 8 bucks minimum?)

Yay a critter post... I'm not sure if its just my monitor but that red is hard for me to read, if you just use the red below it (the slightly brighter one) on the colors list its easy to read. The brighter one looks like the "gets caught" in your signature (and the color of your shirt in your avatar picture), were as the darker one sort of conflicts with the background. Your monitor may have its contrast settings set high so you don't notice.

Anyhow *random hug* !

That's a lot for us right now. Jon's making less than half he was a couple years ago, and I'm still not working. We wouldn't come SE for this event, but it's a class reunion and I am actually looking forward to seeing a couple people who will be there this year. Can't swing much more than gas & some expense money for the trip.

That's the red I've used for the majority of my life here on DGN. But that was when the background was black. This blue might not work with it so very well.

Unfortunately a lot of the "basic colors" of DGN had to be changed on the board-side (and even in my profile) due to the background not being black anymore. I was reluctant to change the board from the way it looked before to the way it is now. Partly due to all the work involved (but more due to the potential drama) but the version of the board software we were on before was getting so old (you know somethings not right when 2 years is "old") that a lot of the features that were over my head were "unsupported" when I tried to get them fixed, so it was sort of a forced upgrade, then.... Once i got started upgrading everything it just sort of hit me to try this change mostly because it required the least "customizing" to get it to look right. (meaning "only" like 20+ hours >.>) and I couldn't find any "pre-made" color scheme that looked the same as the old one with the new version of the software.

Blue-green is the most notorious color in terms of people seeing it different ways (especially in men apparently), which, I was unaware of until I just looked into it just now so I could be mildly color deficient and just not realize it, although it would appear more "black" if I was, which should help in terms of contrast.
