Out of the Darkness Community Walks

Recommended Posts

So I'm walking with my sister and her team October 2nd in Milford in the Out of the Darkness Walk supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and I was hoping that if you could you would maybe donate a dollar or two for a cause that is very close to my heart. I have lost two important people in my life to suicide and I don't want anyone to have to go through that. Please consider it.

Also if anyone is interested in joining our team or just walking here is the information on the walk. It's a really fun event, I did it last year too.

Ill see to it to donate dearie. Though am curious as to what your team does. Is it only for this walk event?

Yes this is the only event that my sister and her team does. All the money we raised goes directly to AFSP. Although I am looking into how to start a walk up here where I live.

Ooh how far north are you?

I'll definitely donate, though i tend to avoid large groups of people, so prolly won't walk.

I live up by Alpena. I understand the avoiding large groups, if it wasn't for my sister and her kids doing the walk I don't know if I could do it myself. This is one of those things I have to force myself to attend and do and just suffer the anxiety for later.

Yeah if I knew someone it wouldn't be a problem.

Nightgaunt, Littlegaunt, and myself would like to come with you guys to walk, if that's cool :) As long as I don't have to work that day, we should be able to make it.

It's been just over 3 years since I lost my JenJen, and it still hurts like a bitch. I think the money raised for this can do a world of great things. I don't like fundraising for all causes because sometimes its just like throwing money into a black hole. By the time funds get portioned out to all the hands in the pot, I imagine about .5 cents of every dollar directly helps the people suffering. Total suck!

For this, though, I see it as funds for counseling, outreach groups, help lines, and programs which deal with people 1:1.

We're in!

If anyone else in the Hazel Park area would like to attend this, we have two spots in the car after us, so you can come with! :)

Thanks TM!!

You are more than welcome to come walk with us :) I just warn you it's like a 3 mile walk or something ridiculous like that, and it's kinda hilly so wear very comfortable shoes.

We're definitely out of shape, but we'll do our best! lol

We'll make sure we have the comfy shoes on, too! :)

Double bump!!

It seems as though I will have a couple of available seats in my car now. Nightgaunt and LittleGaunt will not be able to attend this event with me, so I have two more spots in my care if anyone else wants to go. I believe it is me and kat right now, so if anyone else wants to go with us, just let me know! :)
