Vater Araignee
lighten up dude. i saw no absolutes in his statements, just generalities, which is something that's typical "human nature". and yes, this has become a personal argument and should be taken to PMs. Really? What you just quoted didn't come off as purposely absurd? Even with the LOL? Oh well, still made the points that you cant counter legitimate reasons regardless of how illogical they are and careful how you say things. "LOL" makes a post ok just as much as a qualifying statement that explains that you mean no offense. Don't complain about other people's posting habits and then make the same mistake yourself. No offense.

Just making it painfully obvious to the plebians, my fellow aristocrat. The prolitariat sometimes miss the point of sarcasm, irony, and subtlety. torn asunder
Just making it painfully obvious to the plebians, my fellow aristocrat. The prolitariat sometimes miss the point of sarcasm, irony, and subtlety. that's because it comes across poorly in text. perhaps the person trying to utilize sarcasm should make some effort to indicate so, by using strategic smileys, for example. and no, i'm not being sarcastic. TitsMcGee
WOW...I have NO idea how the hell he's degraded into this. I remember when his show was first on, he was a little out there on some topics, but I actually agreed with him on a lot. After while he just kept degenerating into this crazy "FOLLOW ME OR ALL WILL DIE!" corruption conspiracy cult-leader kind of crap. His ego is overwhelming; I'm surprised that he doesn't just go on air and sit there sucking his own wanker for an hour. I could see saying something rational such as, "This is such a tragedy, I really wish people would have heeded my warnings about disaster preparation, so that damage and deaths will be minimized." But instead he does this "Holier-than-thou-little-kid-I-told-you-so bullshit and once again, goes off about how great he is and the fact that people should just blindly follow him. I hate when celebrities do this and get a huge chip on their shoulder like they're God's own cousin. Kanye West was the same way. When his career first started, he had enough talent and message to be able to be big like Diddy or 2Pac (well...maybe not Pac, that's virtually impossible). But he had to start acting like he was the most intelligent person in the world that everyone wanted to hear, and made himself look like a jackass on several occasions. He could have been known for his music, but now he's known for fish sticks and "I'ma let you finish, but..." He's not Christian, from what I've gathered being on the board. Regarding the Glenn Beck thing: "If you've waited [until now], this hurricane is a blessing," he said. "It is God reminding you, as was the earthquake last week...you're not in control." WOW...what a worthless piece of shit. And he's doing all the "God" bullshit now? Cult leader, he completely needs to be stopped, that guy is getting so out of control. Sadly I have to sit there and listen to people I care about spew his nonsense, and if you try to retort with ANY sound logic they say: "Well you don't know because THEY don't want you to know!" Cult.... Beck is a Mormon. Their church doctrine teaches them to have at LEAST a years worth of food, clothing and fuel on for emergencies. It used to be 2 years but they changed it. I own a copy of the Preparedness Manual the LDS Church puts out ever few years. The Mormon's are going to be one of the few groups of people to survive if the something ever does happen that takes out government or something along those lines. TitsMcGee
And to and: Fucking seriously, what the hell is so wrong with preparing for if disaster strikes. At least then you're not running around like a chicken with your head cut off. I'm a survivalist prepper Cher, does that mean I belong to some cult? I don't even watch Beck, my Da did though, and the man occasionally made some good points.
prick
I think its wise to always be preparred for the worse. The economy could collapse and there will be mass rioting. We could get invaded by other countries. Weve been pissing off the rest of the world for sometime. We are capable of having massive earthquakes. We have even been hit by hurricane strength winds in Michigan. Thats what took down the Edmund Fitzgerald in 75. Theres even the remotest of chances of alien invassions or a zombie appocolypse. I am always geared up to the max to hit the road and live off the land in BFE! All these may be unlikely but nothing is impossible.

I'll eat cattail roots and acorns and drink boiled swamp water wile watching everyone else kill each other for for whats on store shelves and then their pantries. Once they kill each other off, their true valuables will belong to me. Cloth, metal, glass, rope, thread, hand tools ect. I'm betting you will see idiots coveting their I pods long after the generators run dry. Right now, the only thing I am hoarding is hard copy information. That's not to say I don't have a BOB for everyone in my house, but information is always valuable.

xfixi8
Boy oh boy..... Well, I am just going to stick my 2 cents in here. I live in New Jersey, 2 blocks from the water. 15 minutes from lower manhattan. Thanks for being concerned about the people that had to endure. I don't have children and I was at work for a good part of the pre hurricane stuff. The hurricane put 45% of the people I love into a shitty situation, be it floods, cars damaged, power outages, etc. We dont evacuate until it is mandatory because of crime and poverty. Detroit knows about this, yes? Okay, moving on. People that were told to evacuate because it was mandatory in my town and otherwise, for the most part, did. We dont play, we've seen Katrina. Katrina was also a Cat 3. Irene, Cat 1. Thats simple to see it wasnt as severe as that other b(*&h. Moving on again. The god stuff, Im not touching. Let's chalk it up to mother nature, and mud sling her. religion will never not be argued about. So I agree to disagree. I dont know if you guys get hurricanes or what not. But thanks for being worried for us. We appreciate it. Anyone thats interested in seeing where I am demographically, 07002. Map it. Hope you had a nice weekend Detroit. Im waiting for people to pump the lake out of my job so i can go back to dry conditions tomorrow night. Oh and Everyone go to Necto and show love for my good friends Saint and Nocker, will ya? Tell em Jersey sent ya. Xfixi8 xoxox
