The B*tch About Work Thread

Not that this is a bad thing, but for the house I am currently working on, the client and her son just gave me carte blanche on creative freedom...I just wish they had come to this consensus several months ago... :hrhr:

I sometimes don't know how we (people in human services) do it. I come home and ask myself how the fuck did you get through today? I thought working in a rural area would be less stressful and draining but it's really not..its more difficult in some ways...you hear more sadistic stories....especially when they have to get into childhood trauma.. So much sickness in our world and lack of a broad world view, inability to see outside of the small town life, resilience seems minimal. The potential some of them hold if they can get passed the learned helpless, it appears that learned helpless is an actual subculture. The stigma that has been drilled in them. Lack of education about mental illness and/substance abuse, inability to understand the system and how criminal Justice works.. It will always be a revolving door until the people are ready to open their ears, their minds, and fight for their true self rather than be defined by a mere billing code and the closest set of symptoms to be billed under that specific code...this frustrates me to my core.
