What is your favorite movie and why

Recommended Posts

The Princess Bride. It has everything in it. "Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles... "

and Andre the Giant

Goodfellas...Excellent acting, cinematography, sound, lighting, soundtrack, writing, editing...you get the picture.

This is, in my opinion, the best shooting ever

Only thing I hate about the movie is that I get very hungry while watching

I can't say ... it's the answer to the password reset on my kids DSi's that keeps them from going on the internet.

I allow them internet access, but only under my supervision.

I am going to expose your answer for the world to see!!!

There is no way I could just choose one favorite movie, just as I could not choose a favorite band. However, I can put almost any Tarantino movie at the top of my list. Death Proof was awesome! Dusk til Dawn. The original Dawn of the Dead as someone posted above me was great but I also love the new one. Comedy is one of my favorite genres second only to Horror. Zombieland was great cuz it combined those two. Plus, Bill Murray:) Then of course there is always Star Wars which fits in neither category but is great none the less.

As some have mentioned above me, I don't really have a single favourite movie. I have favourite movies in various genres, subgenres, and (in the case of horror) sub-subgenres. But no definitve favourite.

General Horror: Probably gonna have to go with "A Tale of Two Sisters"

Asian Horror: Again, "A Tale of Two Sisters". (Seriously, WATCH THIS FILM) Also, "Chakushin Ari" and "Audition".

Zombie: Hmm... Gonna go old school and say "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead". ("Zombieland" a close runner-up)

"Infected" Horror: "28 Days Later"

Vampire: "The Hamiltons" and "Let the Right One In"

Classic Horror: "Dracula" (Bela Lugosi was HAWT) and "The Wicker Man" (before Nicholas Cage completely destroyed it.)

Monster: "The Host" and "Cloverfield" (Yeah, yeah... I loved "Cloverfield". Heh.)

Pure Gore/Torture: "Gurotesuku" and "Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood" (WARNING: Watch these at your own discretion. These are both banned in several countries and have actually been mistaken for real snuff films. They are, however, purely fictional.)

As you can tell, I'm a bit of a horror nut... Heh.

Comedy: "Fanboys" and "Clerks".

Fantasy: "The Lord of the Rings"

Sci-Fi: A bit of a toughy... I really love "Star Wars". And the new "Star Trek" was amazing.

Sappy Romance: "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Scott Pilgrim" (not really sappy, but it was definitely romantic. I want a guy to fight seven deadly exes for me.)

Sorry for the long list. Its just so damned hard to narrow it down. Heh.
