DGN Sushi Night Is Comin'!

Come get your SUSHI on before hitting up City Club (or wherever the fuck else you're going), Saturday, October 8th. Back by popular demand, this event was successful the last two times it was ran that myself, Raven and havoc are teaming up so we can hopefully get it going somewhat regularly again!

Click here for the Fuji Buffet website(NSFW because you just might spooge in your office chair from the photos!)

What: Mow down on some effing sushi, and other fare offered. They have traditional Chinese buffet items, crab (but good luck getting any with me there), dim sum, drinks (alcoholic and non), and I'm sure a copious amount of crazy unidentifiable shit that will make you say "WTF?!?!!!"

When: Saturday October 8th. Arrive about 8:30pm, I will probably get there slightly early to get situated and to ensure that I get dibs on all that is good.

Where: Fuji Japanese Buffet, 32153 John R Road, Madison Heights

Price: Adults $20.99 (not including drinks)

There will be a pre-meetup at my house in Warren (9 Mile and Van Dyke) for anyone interested that is maybe "newish" to DGN and are not comfortable with just showing up at the restaurant by themselves, or if you just wanna be a bro and come on by :peanutbutterjellytime:. If this is applicable to you, drop me a line or post in this thread that you're thinking you might want to come here first and follow us out there. DON'T BE SHY OR ELSE *SHAKES FIST*

Hope to see as many people there as possible so everybody can go to City Club and SMELL LIKE FISH AFTER :jamin!

won't be the same w/o Stormknight from what I heard

Yeap, I remember seeing the pics from Sushi Night pt 2: The Gimp vs Stormknight. Neither are in state for this event, so we don't have to worry about not being able to get any of the food ourselves :fear::tongue:.

I was going to say "I'll see you there =D" And scare people at how much I can eat..but then, I looked at the price and died inside ;-;

If you can really eat as much as you say you can, then the price is probably a whole lot lower than if you were to order a comparable amount off a menu someplace else.

Yeap try at least $40 cheaper, for the quality and quantity :yes. If you ordered everything that you'd eat here from someplace like Little Tree, you're paying at least $40 extra, but probably much higher.

Lol this one place near me is around $10, and serves TONS of sushi. Maybe its just the area.

Yeah, there's about a bazillion of those in this area too, most charging $7 - $10. They're no big deal, not something to have a nice dinner at, that's cheap fare for this area. But those are run-of-the-mill chinese buffets, with a few bits and pieces of usually unsafe sushi with no selection, whereas this place has hundreds of types, is safe and clean, the food is quality (Chinese food is usually done with cheap quality ingredients and chock full of MSG and preservatives, Japanese restaurants are huge with quality, cleanliness, and wholesomeness). So if your buffet goes by "chinese buffet" instead of "japanese buffet", that would explain the difference in pricing.

If you're dining someplace that's worth it, you're going to spend more than you would at some greasy Coney Island. And for $40-$100 worth of sushi for $20, I don't see how that's not fair.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but my mom and I are allergic to MSG's so we'd know it if their stuff was cheep. Plus my mom always checks with the cooks about what's in their food and yadda yadda yadda -.-

Well, if we were closer we could all go to this magical buffet where there's dozens of kinds of sushi for only $10, plus everything else mentioned, but alas, we have to try and keep it to the tri-county area . I guess maybe it is because it's a more rural area that you'd have that kind of a buffet for $10...? I wonder how they stay in business!

No Buffalo Wing night?

That would be an interesting idea, to have a dinner night maybe two to three times a year, and pick some place drastically different each time. We could do BW3, Mexican Town, Indian food, Thai, Greek, "normal" shit, etc. I do like the thought of that :yes.

Maybe if someplace could charge $0.33 or less for each wing. I can't believe how expensive they've gotten. Poultry places used to just throw the wings away figuring they were worthless until a clever restaurant in New York discovered if they lathered them in hot sauce, people would buy them. And now they charge more for wings than they do sushi.

I like the idea of insinuating our DGN tendrils into Mexicantown.

Yeap, we should do this at least 2-3 times a year, imo. I think next stop should be Mexicantown, for sure. I used to take my friends on random field trips down there.
