Early crushes

Recommended Posts

A few weeks back I watched Beetlejuice. While watching the movie, it clicked with me that I was destined(doomed?) to have a sweet tooth for the goth girls. My childhood crushes consisted of-

Lydia Deetz

Morticia Addams

Vampira

Siouxsie Sioux

Lilly Munster

So yeah, with those being the females effecting my then forming mind....it's no wonder I have a soft spot for the women that I do.

What were your early crushes? What helped form your opinion of "sexy"?

*thinks*

How far back should I go with this...

Yori from Tron, for sure... there were some girls from Junior high (Not sure if this was just celebs) Joan Jet, Darrel Hannah from Splash (And Blade Runner, although I did not know they were the same person at that point). Some of the female cast of Battle Beyond The Stars, as well as BSG....

I think it is safe to assume that I found SCI FI CHICKS HAWT.

The princess from the end of the Neverending Story :). I probably watched that movie a million times. Her and a girl from my 3rd grade class at priest elementary. I never worked up the nerve to talk to her though and honestly I don't remember anything about her other then that she existed.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this elsewhere (suddenly teleports back to the house, "Damn you Eternal!" ... sorry, inside joke) but when I was about 6 years old my family went to Disney World and was having lunch at the Diamond Horseshoe Review in the Magic Kingdom. There were three cancan dancers: a blond, a brunette, and a redhead (all wearing wigs of course but I was 6, I didn't think of things like that). The blond was the sexy one with all the flirtatious lines and all the men would whistle at her. The brunette was the witty sidekick with all of the funny lines and all the men were amused. The redhead was just sort of in the background often ignored. I wondered why this was when I found the redhead the most attractive one of the bunch. Ever since then I've been obsessed with redheads.

Wait, Priest over off of Kirkwood in SW Detroit?

Yeah, sounds about right. I lived on in like 4 different houses in that area before I ended up moving to west detroit (warren and evergreen)in 5th grade. Have many fond memories from living there :).

My brother (nothing incestuous about it. He was gorgeous, and often took care of me. This was very early on, like pre-five years old.)

Michael Nesmith of the Monkees - who, not incidentally, resembled my brother.

Shaun Cassidy - until he canceled the concert I had tickets for, which I took personally and therefore stopped liking him altogether.

Frank Langella as Dracula, 1979 - I was 11 years old. It was a very romanticized version of the story.

And that, my friends, is what started my still burning vampire fetish.

I can think of two. Both from a very young age.

Harrison Ford - From Deckard to Han to Indiana.... *drools*. When I was very young .. I called him Nana Nana, because I could not say Indiana.

And David Gilmour. When I was younger my Mom and Dad would constantly the "Pink" Vs "Led" debate. They were both record junkies.... It wasn't till I became a little older .. (about 10ish) that I realized that David was not in my age range lol.

bit o' trivia: David actually did some modeling before he joined Pink Floyd.
