Starting with Joseph Merrick, the real "elephant man" inclluding Mademoiselle Gabrielle – The Half Lady who, years ago I red fairly extensively about.

I'm drawn to these pre-mondern age type displays as they reveal an age were society accepted very differen't things that we do now and just the period photographs have some sort of bizzare charm to them. Not that I want to go BACK to this sort of "freaks on display" type socieity, but it is intriguing.
