Mayor Bloomberg: GOP Candidates must believe in evolution

Recommended Posts

Bloomberg (hardcore republican until 2007, independent since then.

The New York Daily News reported:

Belief in science should be a no-brainer, especially for anyone running for President, Mayor Bloomberg groused Thursday.

The mayor used an international economic forum at Columbia University to pop off against any candidates who doubt the science behind hot-button political topics such as evolution and global warming.

Hell i thought a key thing was to deny both evolution and global warming not the opposite.

Mmmmmkay.

First, I personally have never meet a card carrying republican that didn't believe in evolution, it is so easy to reconcile that it's retarted. I have meet 1 very conservative democrat who didn't. Of course I have a tendency to avoid fundies because I have spent time in jail thanks to my temper, I cant stand an idiot who thinks he is he is avoiding sin with his belief when in fact his belief is causing him to sin, same goes for an atheist when his logic is based in opinion rather than fact.

As for global warming, try researching these key words:

Weathergate

Climategate

And don't just stop with what the political whore sewer-main stream media has to say about it, look into alternative media, read the whitepapers and memos.

Then look at a couple interesting questions:

Why have they recently discovered the polar-bear numbers are higher than they where before they started to claim the numbers where dropping? Could it be that they just simply don't know about the broader cycles of travel?

Why are oceanic levels trending lower now? Could it be that some group of scientific idiots who think they know everything didn't take into account El Niño and La Niña and really doesn't have a grip on ice sheet and glacier dynamics?

And what ever happened to the global cooling scare of the 60s and 70s and the current trend of the past 11 years. Hmmm a global cooling for about 20 years, then global warming for about 20 years then global cooling for a little over a decade. Looks like a natural cycle to me.

Then the last and most simple fact, for much longer than most of use have been alive, scientists have known that:

1. Ice ages come.

2. Ice ages go.

3. We are in the tail end of an ice age.

Global warming may in fact be gradually be happening but "man made global warming" is pure bullshit.

Next thing you want to start doing is to look at what political gains there are to foisting this on the world. Hell George H. W. Bush signed onto Agenda 21, that right there tells you that a politicians belief or disbelief according to what party they belong in is simply a mask.

Remember the EPA says hay is a pollutant and I wont even start in on the environmental blank check they handed Monsanto.

All I gotta say about ANYONE going for a damn office is they I don't give 2 flying fucks about: Evolution vs. creation, damn abortions, or fucking gay people!

We have more pressing matters at hand...and it has nothing to do with the legal status of your relationships when you are dick slapping each other in the kitchen while debating if your friend should keep her baby enough. Shit...it is all kind of secondary when it comes to things like the damn economy...which doesn't care where you put your dick...

I guess there is always something more important like, say my interest in some movie that is coming out is irrelevant compared to death in africa due to aids, but its just a topic like any other.

I really wish the two (evolution and global warming) weren't lumped together in that story but oh well.

The economy (both domestic and global) I think is the most pressing matter as its the fuel that is needed to get everything else done.

Assuming these are intelligent educated people, and are key players in the well being of the economy, if they don't believe in the fact of evolution I tend to assume they also and don't care about science. Generally without science and technology advancement our economy is screwed. I wouldn't say its a huge deal for me, but given the choice between two candidates, I'm going to go with the one that at least has a clue about science. Evolution is a fact in the way that gravity is a fact.

Usually along with this is young earth creationism, which means, that beer was invented before the earth existed. Really not a guy I want in charge of the nukes.

Global warming I think is still debatable, although every time i look into the details of the nay sayers, the arguments sound convincing, but then have counter-arguments that make thoes convincing arguments seem not so convincing (all the arguments Vater lists up there also have rebuttals which are equally convincing as far as I've been reading, so it leaves it up in the air for me).

they can rebut everything I came up with individual but they cant do it as a whole because it sums up that they do not have all the facts. They cherry pick facts to support their pet theory rather than use Occam's razor to find the correct hypotheses.

The recent opinions or what we are voting for and why along with the Occupy movement have led me to believe one thing...We WANT to be divided. People can't stand that others don't believe the things they do...and that goes for atheists too.

I honestly give up on people. We waste money trying to prove our points for things that really don't have anything to do with actually helping humanity. Nobody is right...was are human and while science may be perfect we are not...so you can bet you ass that we fucked it up.

I don't believe in evolution and neither did alot of people I went to college with. We still used it though...for fluids and thermodynamics, airflow, material selections, and all sorts of other shit...pretty much none of which had anything to do with evolution and we didn't give a fuck...or did bronze evolve into steel? I know alot of people in the medical profession that don't believe in evolution...they still do their jobs with some good damn efficiency.

And I am not digging into you here but...people who don't believe things the way atheists do or the way evolution people do are often stereotyped...but isn't that wrong? No because self-justification will always live on in the hearts of men not caring about what they believe in at all. Again, we LOVE conflict and we WANT to be divided.

Look I am not trying to piss you off like I said before...I am just telling you the truth. When humanity is dead we will all be right. Or if a time machine is invented and someone actually SEES EVOLUTION OR THE BIG BANG HAPPEN! And that will still not solve any of the worlds problems. Get me some real world leaders...not the ones that listen when Iran says "oh sure you can check all of our facilit...NO NOT THAT ONE! Naw we aren't hiding anything you just can't look in there...ever...". I want some no nonsense bastards that want to smash the real problems that actually affect us all in our daily lives...
