I got a "True American" e-mail that set me off.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase,

'One nation, under God.'

Well gee fucktard, lets have a little look at the history of the pledge.

The newest (1954) version of the Pledge of Allegiance is as follows:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

compare it to the previous (1924) version:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands; one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

What is different? Oh I see, the newer version includes "under God,"

Lets look at some more shall we? Bold are additions or changes.

1923:"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

I dont see why America had to be included in 24, but fucktards need it spelled out for them.

1892:"I pledge allegiance to my flag and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all." The addition of that to really weakens it.

ORIGINAL:"I pledge allegiance to my flag and the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

I pledge allegiance to my flag. Means that you are claiming it as yours, and without that to, you are claiming the republic as yours also.

And the original pledge was written by a socialist baptist minister named Francis Julius Bellamy so shove under God up your TRAITOROUS ANTI AMERICAN ASS!

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted

in public places.

First off, I highly doubt you know what a truly public place is, but I'll bite.

LEARN TO READ ASSHOLE! The first part of the First clearly reads Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion That means that if the Ten Commandments are posted in a truly public space then I as a citizen have the right NO THE DUTY to be offended.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You still say 'Christmas' instead of 'Winter Festival.'

HELLOOOOOOOO, Technically you can only have a Christmas festival on Christmas and Christmas eve, another time it is simply a Winter Fest.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You bow your head when someone prays.

That is just simple respict for the individual and has nothing to do with being American you jack off.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the

National Anthem.

Nope, once again you are wrong, that is the difference between a patriot and someone who was simply born here.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have.

And we go back to yet another simple matter of respect for war vets that has nothing to do with being American.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You've never burned an American flag.

And you might just be a true American if you did, It is called freedom of speech BITCH!

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter

who is listening.

Yeah, it is called freedom of speech you oxymoronic dildo! By the way, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Wiccans, Atheists etc. etc. are all fools who lack the ability to admit they dont know shit and are only following what a person claimed as true long before their birth.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:

You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.

SIMPLE HUMAN DECENCY. Fucks sake you don't have a fucking clue as to what you are saying and if I ever came face to face with you I would beat your lying ass to a bloody pulp because I unlike you am a TRUE PATRIOT!

If you got this email from me, it is because I believe that you, like me,

have just enough TRUE AMERICAN in you to have the same beliefs as

those talked about in this email..

What ever you say poser.

God Bless the U S A ! Amen

AND YOU ARE A TRUE AMERICAN, IF YOU THINK THE NATIONAL ANTHEM SHOULD ONLY BE SUNG IN ENGLISH !

Well duh!

I actually got it from my father with a question added by him.

How would a REAL AMERICAN PATRIOT respond to a "True" American.

But I didn't get the chance to read his question before I started flipping out and responding to the Anti-American spew assaulting my eyes.

I get so pissed when people get offended because someone doesn't want to say "Under God". I automatically assume that they are traitors. What I mean is the Confederacy where traitors, by extension anyone who identifies with it are, so The Daughters of the Confederacy who are instrumental in the addition of "Under God" added are traitors there by nullifying the addition.

Of course the constitution has been whittled and chipped before I was born so no one will use the provision that nullifies any law/decree brought about by or for the interest of traitors.

It burns me up when idiots claim these sorts of things as defining what is and is not patriotic or "American."

Some old fart on a message board I no longer participate in once made the absurd decree that anyone who votes democratic is an unpatriotic traitor.

This infuriated me when I think about someone like my dad - a WWII veteran who has fought battles throughout his life from immense (WWII frogman and UDT) to minute (defying a change in Knights of Columbus wardrobe guidelines by refusing to stop wearing an American flag pin on his lapel) in defense of his country and flag - and who votes straight democratic ticket probably every time.

When I brought my dad up as an example of how wrong that statement was, that fuckwad persisted in insisting that yes, even my dad is a traitor for having the gall to not vote republican.

Fuck you, asshole.

PLEASE tell me you CCed this back to them :thumbsup:.

I sent it back to my father and was fortunate enough to be there when he read it or he would have literally hit the floor laughing. He also accused me of being nice about it as he has seen me face down armed militia members poking them in the chest and cursing them when I get sick of the false patriotism. When FDR said "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" he was full of shit, fear, terror, what ever is healthy, it can keep you alive and drive you to correct action.

"The only thing we have to fear is wanton stupidity. I will cause your friend to put a bullet in you skull in the name of an evil he was to dumb to recognize."

It burns me up when idiots claim these sorts of things as defining what is and is not patriotic or "American."

I almost say it is unpatriotic to vote either republican or democrat, almost. I understand that most people don't understand that the "drastic differences" between the two are actually minor variations in style designed to obfuscate the fact that you don't have a choice if you vote for one or the other. Even if you consider yourself independent and vote for what you think is the lesser evil. Truth is we need to start looking at voting records instead of labels. Cripes, liberals should love Newt, that man is so far left that even RINOs hate him.
