And where is the humor in it? All they are trying to do is buck the square state status. The Fed put in an order for 420,000,000 emergency meals. Don't sound like a big deal? They normally only keep 6,000,000 on hand, meaning a 7,000% increase from the norm. So why shouldn't a state follow? A state has a right to a militia, and the states had them until the Fed decided to take the National Guard from the states. So why shouldn't they build a new militia? As for an aircraft carrier, well they are a square state, so that makes it sad not funny.
Slogo
Why do they need an aircraft carrier though? Not a whole lot of access to the ocean and navigating the rivers would be more trouble than it's worth.

Not a whole lot of access to the ocean and navigating the rivers would be more trouble than it's worth. Alot of the Guard or Reserve wings of the military are of the type that could operate off of a carrier but can't because they don't have one. It seems like it would cost more to base an air wing on a carrier but when the medical flights rotate from Wisconsin over to combat zones or to relief areas it costs a TON or route them from land base to land base. It does sound stupid but just because a base is landlocked it doesn't mean that the unit there operates purely in the state. As far as military actions go they save money using Guard or Reserve for some reason. It also would be a "used" carrier most likely so while they wouldn't get the new owners tax credit it would be nice for their first carrier.
