:jamin Hey whats up? My name is Chuck and I am an industrial music junkie.

I own CD's I literally only bought for 1 song only to find out the rest suck.

I have been into into industrial since my first visit to CC,about 16 yrs ago by my count. Before that I saw NIN in concert, so I was definitely headed in the right direction when a friend introduced me to City Club.

My music tastes vary from metal in its various sub genres to industrial and a little goth.

Looking to make some new online friends.

I am married with 2 kids and a full time job.

I used to be a regular fixture at CC before the kids.

I still try to get out to concerts, mostly metal these days. Looking forward to Meshuggah next. :jamin

Anywho, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Hiya,

Yeah I'm with you there on buying an album just to find out only one (or two) songs on the whole CD are worth a damn. Seems especially true with more obscure genres / artists. Although really these days the stuff is so easy to come by its hard to get stung , since you can either preview all the songs, or in a lot of cases listen to the whole album beforehand. Its been a pretty long time since I've actually spent cash on music *guilty look* Odd how buying music was like a weekly rtual almost, now its almost-never since everything is available via other means for the most part.

Glad to see you on the board. Your not alone with the "used to go out more before the kids" thing (lot of people around here are older, but theres a wide age range) I personaly dont have an kids but its super common.

Hopefully we can get you to stick around the joint. You already answered some of this but here goes:

*drum roll*

Before the time of itunes or a reliable internet source there were many weeks I spent my days off going to Harmony House or Off the Record, Rockabillys too.

There aren't many people I come across in my day to day life that listen to ebm, industrial, or even metal these days. Maybe I'm in the wrong line of work. It seems to be crammed full of hip hop or top 40.

So it will be nice to have an outlet to discuss these interests.

By the way. I was interested to see if anyone knows who did the remix of Slayer's Raining Blood they played at CC last night. I was looking for a playlist post on the LCC facebook page but no luck.

They played a good mix last night, didn't miss the slow goth block as we used to call it.

If you go to CC on a more consistent basis you'll end up meeting (or if you have trouble meeting just hang around me long enough ill introduce u to like 50 people) people with more interest in such things, hell , even more than I do, I personally have become less hardcore into music and more into stuff like sci-fi, gaming, history, science , art etc, than the rabid music fan that i once was (not that I'm not still a music fan). The place (DGN and DGN night is fairly slow right now, but thats my fault as i got sick and sort of dissapeared for like 6 months until a few weeks ago, in the process of "rebuilding" things at the moment).

Most of the CC DJs are on DGN, some of them regularly some of them not so regularly I'll PM some of them to get the playlist posted for Saturday hopefully with that remix listed. (I could call a few but 4am "hey post the dang playist" calls probably not the friendliest thing to do)
