Cross-Club / Scene Insults

Recommended Posts

Most people are very civil and even the more blunt among us (including myself at times) know what being civil means and act as such on DGN. DGN is not youtube or any "any asshat comment goes" type place. (which everyone agreed to when they singed up)

None of the cross-club/scene insults are. Sure its fine to say "i didnt really like X Y Z all that much" but thats a far cry from just being straight up rude / a-holish. Do some of us want to hear "innovative" playlist that have no "hits" on them at all sometimes? Sure. Do some of us NEED TO KEEP THE DAMN DOORS OPEN by playing the same said hits? Yes. Do some of us agree with all three opinions? Do some people just not like a particular cllub? Sure, and that's fine, but being a straight up rude jerk about it is not.

But being insulting and rude helps no one. You can make a point without that, or you can make it elsewhere.

We can't do anything about it off-board, but if you want to be rude and hurt the scene with the endless inter-club/music insults I wish you wouldn't , but at least do not do it here. DGN is meant to be a civil friendly place. Do we let a lot of borderline "abrasive" stuff slide? Sure, we want people to be able to express themselves, but if you cant do it without being rude, just dont do it.

Does this have to do with any SINGLE comment? no.

This really only applies to a very few people but it needs to be addressed (and has been in the past but I assume it will be a problem for years to come as a few people just dont know how to make a point without the rancor)

Andrew Eldritch ranked The Happy Wanderer was one of the greatest songs ever written (sometimes mistaken for a german folk song), maybe if one is especially elite one can grasp such concepts as well as the true nature of spacetime. Edited by Troy Spiral
might have seemed "angry" and wasn't intended to be, was just being goofy / esoteric.

it will happen. but i hope it remains civil. specially when promotions for events and money is involved. and the idea that one event will take the market from the other... and visa versa. its hard to find peace with limited marketshare.

Competitors divided by the available resources does tend to increase the conflict rate in anything. Never really thought about it that way before but we I do seem to get the sense we have a lot of chiefs vs the number of braves compared to many other populations. Having no data to support that its just a feeling, but it does seem accurate.

hence why theres a love/hate relationship with city club i think.

Makes sense. It doesn't have to be that way but , unfortunately it apparently is. I mean I'm good with all the places that I'm aware of generally, not sure why it has to be one or the other or some such.

I also believe Ryan Gosling is a Gothic Hipster without even knowing it.

1. He has a neoclassical band called Dead Man's Bones with a child choir that sings Halloween-themed songs.

2. He utilizes ties.

3. He starred in a movie with an 80's Revival/Valerie collective soundtrack.

Or maybe.. he does know it..
