Lasik Surgery Is Awesome!

When we were first dating, we went and had sex in the backyard once. We came in and there was a slug on his knee. He didn't even know what it was he thought it was a leaf. He touched it and it was squishy and he freaked, it was so funny. So here I am laughing and he is like, it's not funny...I cannot see. I totally take my good eye sight for granted anyway but....then there was this other time, again after sex...and we see this bug crawling across the floor and he goes and kneals over it and is practically right on top of it and I am thinking, is he THAT hungry? And again I say something stupid, I had no idea some peoples eyes were that bad without the glasses but that with them they can see just fine.

So he had lasik at the Windsor eye institute this week and he woke up today and for the first time since he was like 5 to 8 yrs old he could see! He said it was awesome not reaching for his glasses. I give him credit for letting anyone touch his eyes with a laser. And he didn't have to put in his contacts this morning for the first time in years. Here is to modern medicine at it's best.

I had Lasik almost 3 years ago. It changed my life! I still see wonderfully and had no problems at all!

I've decided to get the Lasik sometime this year... I've been helly nearsighted since first grade & I'm sick of being half-blind. My vision is like 20/200 uncorrected & I'm terrified of being in some disaster or emergency situation & losing my glasses or contacts... I would be fucking helpless. Plus I've developed astigmatism in the past few years and have to have toric contact lenses which are godawful expensive. Lasik can't possibly cost more than buying these expensive ass contacts year after year... not to mention the solutions & new glasses every year. So I'm kind of shopping around the Lansing & Detroit areas for the best price/experience combination... I mean I want a good deal but I don't want some fly-by-night person working on my eyes! Any recommendations would be appreciated.

What sucks about my vision is, I ONLY have astigmatism. Not near nor far sighted. With such "not bad" vision, I'm not a candidate for lasik, nor contacts which could actually overcorrect my vision.

So, I either wear glasses, or go without for special occasions, which results in shooting head pains. :(
