TronRP
I am a big believer of the afterlife and am fascinated by the paranormal. I was interested in learning if anyone in the DGN family have any encounters with the paranormal they would like to share? The interesting thing about that is growing up we called it paranormal, now we just call it life. Anything in particular you want me to share? TronRP
I think I got a bit hasty in my need to share. For a brief second, I forgot about all the skepticism that comes with the sharing of personal experiences of this kind. I was born with a heightened sixth sense, so to speak, therefore these manifestations connect to the core of my being. The ridicule and doubt that I have received in the past just hit me this morning and I got worried about sharing. I experience activity of all sorts the majority of the time. It is even to the point that if I had a dream a "feeling" or a premonition, it is taken seriously. And due to of my indepth understanding of the Japanese culture at the age of 5, my Japanese friends and homestay families believe I may have been reincarnated in the wrong country. Also, for me, Japanese language is easier than English. Although I experience these things, I still take it with a grain of salt. I know that everything is not something of the paranormal. But it is usually the "mind's eye" experiences that are the most impactful.
LadyKay
Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I will share it anyway. When I was around 11 years old my grandfather died unexpectedly. I spent most of my childhood staying with my grand parents. The house they lived in had a mud room off of the kitchen. The door to the kitchen from this room was always closed to keep the cold air out of the house. My grandfather alway came into the house through the back door into the mud room. He would sit down in the chair, take off his work boots and drop them to the floor. Before coming into the kitchen. Well, after he died for months me and my grandmother would hear the back door open and the sound of someone dropping their boots on the floor. I got upset at this but grandma just said "that's just your grandpa taking off his boots." It went on for months sometimes once day sometimes two or three times a day. Then after a while it just stopped and we didn't hear it anymore. Also just before my grandfather died my mother bought her first new car. My grandfather had told my mother that he would like to take a ride in her new car. But he died before that could happen. About a week after he died my mother came home all hysterical and upset. She said she was driving home and looked in her rear view mirror and saw my grandfather sitting in the back sit of her car. She was so upset she said she almost crashed the car on the way home. kat (1)
When my daughters dad died I went in the basement and picked up some of my stuff, we stayed down there and used a space heater as it was winter time. It was off when I went down there, less than five minutes later his mom came down and she asked me if I turned it on I said no, well it was on. She ran up the stairs pretty freaked out, I stayed and stood there staring at it like, holy shit...and all of a sudden, it was off again. Noone touched it. TronRP
When my brother's adopted son turned 4, he began having mental issues. It was rather expected since he was diagnosed as a drug baby at birth. Due to the fact that he was so young, Social Services refused to help us with him unless he caused major harm. After trying to set fire to my mother's house, knock his sister through the bars of the stairs and destroying personal property, emergency services were finally available to us to help with his condition. His doctor decided medication would be the best option. I noticed the air finally seemed to feel calm and things started returning to some semblance of normality and people were actually able to start getting sleep again, until January of last year. After turning 5, the medication no longer had the same affect and he slowly began reverting to his previous ways which always seemed to have an air of mischief behind it. That's when I noticed the familiar static feeling in the air corresponded to his behavior. It all came to a head last January when I was suddenly awaken by a feeling of anxiety stronger than my usual bouts, when I saw it standing in the far corner of my bedroom. It was a see through apparition of a faceless chiseled looking gray statuesque male figure facing me then disappeared through the wall which faced my mother's house. I immediately called her and said I had just seen the "running man" so be on guard I think something is coming. Sure enough, that next morning, he became angry about not being able to take a banana to school, grabbed the household intercom and smashed it on the floor then started crying. All we could think was "here we go again" and sure enough I began seeing the running man almost every night. The closer to me the running man got, the more outrageous the little boy's behavior became. However, I drew the line the day he wiped his own feces around his bedroom walls. That's when I decided to take matters into my own hands and brought him to my house to keep an eye on him during the night since that was when the majority of his actions took place. Also, I was not too eager to find out what would happen if the running man actually got close enough to touch me. As for his doctor's input, the child was refused another medication review until he reached the legal age of 6 which was months away. We found that by keeping him active and working off excess energy before bed, kept the majority of his behavior in a state of control. Finally, he turned 6, had his medication review and life has been normal until two days ago. Slight behavioral issues have sparked up again and his medication is no longer having the desired affect. Of course, now it is easier to schedule an appointment for medication review since he is now 7, but there will always be a look out for the running man. TronRP
I just saw that my story posted twice I like the idea of being able to participate in this thread, I just have to be careful because as I recount these types of events, I can easily open that part of my psyche that is susceptible to these types of encounters and have to remain focused to close it again. I know it sounds a bit fake, but that's my life 24/7. Edited December 12, 2012 by TronRP
LadyKay
Since you posted this I have been thinking about my childhood home. It now sits empty. Ever since my mother sold it .Anyone who moves into it moves out within a year. I have said that I think my father is haunting the place. But actually now that I think about it, there were some strange things that happen. I can remember my mother waking up in the middle of the night swearing that there where ghost in her bedroom and that she heard things. If you were home by yourself, you would sometimes hear someone as clear as day call your name. As if they were in the next room. My mother told my father about this and my father said to never answer them back as it was bad luck. This would happen to me at times when I was home alone. I knew I was alone in the house but I would hear someone as clear as day call my name. I would never answer back.
TronRP
In 2004 I purchased my neighbor's house that I have lived next door to since I was 18 months old. My mother, siblings and brother-in-law helped me move in shortly thereafter. My neighbor, whom I had known my entire life, had just passed away a few years earlier and her daughter moved in for a short while, but her daughter moved her into an assistant living facility then offered the house to our family. We all practically grew up in the home anyway, so we agreed to buy it. A couple of days after the move-in, I came home exhausted from work and decided to take a brief nap before heading out to pick my mother up from work. I crashed on the sofa, but had no clocks set up to tell time since I had not unpacked anything as of yet. While laying there half sleep, out of the corner of my eye, I saw my recently deceased neighbor walk down the stairs with her cane and watched her come past the foyer into the living room. She reach down, wiggled my ankle that was slightly dangling off the sofa and, in that calm way she always spoke, said, "Girl get up and go get your mother." At that point I sat up, grabbed my phone which was my only method for telling time for the moment, saw I had 15 minutes to get downtown and broke for the door. I remember thanking her as I ran out of the house. That was the first and only visitation I have ever had from her since moving in all those years ago. LadyKay
I'm not sure if this would count as paranormal. Well, when it happen it must had been 1997 when my family had to put my grandmother in a nursing home. She had basically lost her mind and all touch with reality. She talked on about stuff that no one understood and believed that everyone around her was trying to kill her. Though she did still recognize family members but thought we were all lying to here about people not trying to kill her. She had days when her mind was there and days when it was not. Most of the time it was not. So none really paid much attention to anything she said. One day I was visiting her and out of the blue she ask about my father. She said he had cancer and that it was eating him up. This bothered me but I blew it off as just another crazy thing she was talking about. My father was perfectly fine and there was no sign anything was wrong with him. I never told anyone about it and thought nothing more on it. Then about a year later my father starting losing weight and could not understand why. He got worse and ended up in the emergency room. They ran some test and found out he had lung cancer that had already spread to his brain. I just don't have any way to explain how my grandmother would have know about his cancer since at the time she said that my father himself did not know about it.
