I am currently residing in Calgary, Alberta.

I moved here from Michigan. In Michigan, I used to live in Farmington Hills and Novi areas.

I am female.

Currently SAHM.

Studying for LSATs.

One little babe, he is now 10 months old.

Married.

I love photography. I do some creative writing on the side, I am hoping to write a fictional book soon. I am interested in spiritual matters and studies. I have a deck of tarot cards. I just ordered another one called Hermetic Tarot deck although I doubt I am getting the original prints based on the price I paid for it. I love music, dub step. Because my clairaudience causes me to be influenced or affected by what I listen to, I must limit the amount of "dark" I let my ears hear. Fast, sharp and crazy sounds meet my ADD needs on the music front. Although I will never give up on my occasional Depeche Mode, VNV Nation, and Apoptygma Berzerk.

Calgary doesn't have very many people who are interested in things considered gothic. I am meeting new people here but I feel like I am Dexter. I am meeting a lot of moms with babies, all cute and nice. This is where jack of all trades works. But I do wish to find a few who are like-minded, some day. I used to be a member at DGN many years ago. I prefer to keep my identity hidden for now. I used to be a regular at City Club for a few years only until an issue happened and I was forced to remove myself from the scene.

And this is where uroboros comes. Aside from the fact that it was my old username, it represents "recycle" and here I am, back again, picking up the pieces from my past that rang true among the craziness I had to go through.

I will say this, I have been in many cliques from yuppies to hippies to goth. I must admit that the goth is probably the most versatile group of people who will less likely to criticize that of which is unique. When I think goth, I think sex fetish. It's the most common thought. But there is more to it. And just with any common place, not everyone gets along here too. I am back because I want to clear my name. Or not. At least here will help me stay grounded and true to myself since everything around here is high altitude and very, extremely close to sun. We get a lot of sunlight hours here... it's nuts.

"But I feel like Dexter" hah. :p

I'd say half the people in and around the "DGN Cloud" lets call it (there is a lot of DGN "ish" stuff that, is between people that met directly or indirectly because of dgn, but isn't necessarily on DGN) are in the "married(or not) with children" club. The average maturity level / age of the board seems to have risen over time even though we still have plenty of younger people around.

I've been a lifelong student of all things spiritual / religious (or lack thereof). I've had many tarot decks over the years, although most of them I've given away as they seemed better suited to others than to me. I defiently prefer the Rider-Waite symbolism rather than variants just for its rough-cut usability, despite the Thoth deck being "cooler" and more subtle, although honestly I've found its far more about the reader than the deck, people get obsessed with the cards / artwork. Don't get me wrong I've bought like 10 of the things over the years (6 of them Thoth decks). Im skeptical of the claim that the Thoth deck is the "real" version of the Rider deck. Its an interesting subject though.

In more modern days I've leaned toward palm reading as it just feels more "organic" to me (in the same way that tarot feels more organic than astrology, not that i can explain that too well. Have all studied all sorts of other things but this paragraph will turn into a leviathan if I start going into that. :hrhr:

The Uroboros name is interesting, I just got done reading the massive and most recent Song of Fire and Ice (Awesome A+++ series) book by george R. R. Martin and he was talking about how some of the inspirational for a part in the book came to him via such symbolism.

Sounds like a lot of sun! Yikes! Im getting burnt just reading about it!

Welcome back, hopefully we can trick you... i mean talk you into sticking around and throwing your 2 cents in more often!

See, that's what I mean... cool and welcoming.

Totally agree that most cards out there are simply artistic. I had Rider cards in the past. Just came across this "the wild unknown" tarot deck. I was about to create my own with black, white, red using a different symbolism but will wait until I try this deck before I proceed. Not into the art of it, not as much as what its symbols' association with the self brings out. Geometric, complicated yet simple, and/or as close to nature as possible types are preferred.

Had an old deck years ago, that was a bit different, for instance, instead of the hierophant card being labeled as such, it said "take the hierophant off the pedestal". It's possible to cross some boundaries between meanings. ARtists who design the cards use their interpretations based on what worked for them and presented to the rest of us as an alternative option.

Have u checked a meaning of "something" u saw in your dream and found that no two sources are alike? Kind of like that...

Yeah honestly i thinkt he meaning of dreams are personal and there is no "universal meaning" (unlike what the books try to tell you) like. a turtle in my dream might mean something totally different than what a turtle in anyone else dream might mean.

And i've long felt that tarot cards are best made, by hand, rather than storebought. I always felt that the artwork was too... lets call it "slick" and a more "rugged" or "raw" style would be better.

Yeah honestly im a really open person and its all hugs from me even if i totally disagree, i just like to talk and be friendly.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.
